A couple of months ago I asked a question regarding the difference in the finish on the alloy frames of a 39-2 and a 6904. Here is the thread:

Short story long, one of my gunsmith's cop customers brought in an old duty 6904, usual story "carried a lot, shot a little" and boy did it look it! It was beat, the frame, the slide, every part of the pistol showed from years of carry. This little nine was smooth and tight, and with my smithy knowing my penchant for all things S&W - I had to have it. At $200 w/2 mags, figured I had myself a little fun gun.
Well, my smith had a different idea. Recalling the success we had with the 39-2 he offered to "experiment" with the 6904, to see if he could create something different, unique, yet entirely functional as well as more appealing to the eye. When you see the finished result, I think you will agree with me when I say he went above and beyond!
Not sure what he did, what favors he called in, or what this would cost in the real world, but to say it is phenomenal would be an understatement. He had the frame bead blasted, the slide reblued, the stainless hard parts refinished, and I now own one of one...or, when parked next to the 39-2, two of two!
Wait for it...
It is worth it...
Patience fellas....
OK, here ya go...
Right side
Left side
Both pistols side by side
I always liked the serial number of this little 39-2
What does everyone think?
When I think 9mm I think "Glock who?"
