Walking sticks / Canes

My favorite Walking Stick :D. Due to an injury I am using a quad cane right now. I hope to be rid of it within the next few weeks. No more canes or walking sticks for me, if I can help it.

I wonder know how many folks recognized, the walking stick that you show, or even know that they exist. They might even be extinct, due to our modern insect control, and the chemicals that are sprayed on our fields, and crops nowadays. I haven't seen one in many years.

Sword canes

My mom gave me 5 she found that her dad had whittled out at some time. Pretty rough, but I love having them.

Also got the one with a 27" Toledo blade in it.

It's been a longtime ambition, of mine, to own a sword cane, but, at my age, physical, and mental condition what it is, and the price required to buy one, i don't suppose that I'll ever be able to own one.

Cold Steel makes one that's supposed to be pretty good.

If I wanted one to actually use, I'd rather have a blade between 12 to 18 inches. It kinda awkward to draw the 27" blade out of the one I have.

We see them every fall here in cornfields and cows country. We do try and minimize chemicals on our own property but I see as many now, if not more, than when I was a kid. Maybe it's just that I notice and appreciate nature more since I'm older. It's hard to say.

Chubbo, would love to see more of your sticks and canes. I’ve been whittling sticks and staffs for most of my life, here’s a few

Love it Kitgun! Is that cane/walking stick stand near the door an improvised umbrella stand?

This is 17.5", made by Burger of South Africa. On their website they state "A lot of thought has gone into the overall length of our sword cane making it very effective yet not too long to be unmanageable 17.5" (440mm)."

Can't say that I get much use out of it, but it is fun to have!

That looks like the Mark 1 from their website. If I live long enough to need a cane, I'd pay $550 for one like that.

I really like their Titanium Stiletto model, but not for $1,600.
