Thanks to a Walmart tip in a previous post I checked online for some .22's and said they were in stock. So, I chose .223 and lo and behold it said they had some in stock. This was right before lunch so I headed in and they had 20 525 boxes of the Federal target .22's. Being that I am kinda low on .223 I opted to go with....get this....I was able to get my grubby hands around 600rds (100per box) of Federal .223 55gr FMJ for .38 per round. It was a 3 box limit, but I had a buddy with me and he bought me 3 as well. Keep checking online and set them up to email you when they are in stock. Yesterday was a good day:D

I have yet to receive one email from their "email when back in stock" button. I have even found it where it showed in stock and never emailed, so I wouldn't count on that.

But their stock level are fairly accurate, but it can take up to 30 minutes after sold to indicate out of stock. I have been 5-10 minutes late a couple times.

When I check Wal Mart's website, it usually shows a store close to me with .22lr in stock. I'll call to verify or visit in person and I always find them out. So, I've found their website unreliable.

Well, for me it worked just yesterday, got exactly what I was waiting for all the time, CCI Mini Mags, 300 rounds. (3 Boxes)

I've never received an email either when something is in stock I signed up to receive notifications on, and I know dang well they got it in.

Stock level accurate? HAH! I've noticed an item is often shown in stock but the date and time is sometimes as much as 3 or 4 days old. Useless.
Twice now I've gone to Walmarts with in stock showing and they don't have it and told me they haven't had any in weeks but customers keep showing up saying online shows it in stock.
They really need to get their act together, frankly I'm surprised their system is so lousy...

I checked Walmart site last night & said they had 2 325 ct boxes of 22LR called them & sure enough they did. Made a fast trip down & bought both boxes.

Wish I could say the same.

The Walmart website has been a complete and utter failure.

I have yet to receive an email for in stock ammo and I've noticed that sometimes it hasn't been updated for over 48 hours. So that IF you find a location that list ammo as in stock, it is gone as the site isn't up to date.

The 20 or so Walmarts near me are not seeing much in the way of 22LR.

I've done the email notification option on the WM website for no less than four separate WM stores in my area...I finally received an email at 12:45 am this morning, so I stopped by the store that was listed as in-stock....turns out they didn't have the ammo....system is broke. :(

Well, it is Wal Mart after all. I put zero faith in anything concerning them.

I was in Walmart today and got some of what I was looking for. I talked to the manager and he said he no longer does the ordering, it is done at corporate. He said he doesn't even know until the afternoon what is coming in tomorrow . The web site might be reporting it was ordered, maybe even delivered, but was it put on the shelves, or was it sold by the time you got there. Manager told me if I was really serious be there when the store opens.

Keep in mind that "in stock" might not be on the shelf. Its usually going out in the evening at least around here. And NEVER believe anything any of the workers say as they are useless and clueless. Last night had some old know it all working telling me they havent had 22 or .223 or 9mm in a month and i told him funny thing he said that as three prior trips in the last week had me buying and seeing all three. He also said they "lock up" ammo in the back ( he said he has worked back there for 10 yrs btw) and dont put it out til the morning. Again told him that wasnt true the last three nights so he sat there and got all smart about it....then here comes the pallet being wheeled out and i saw ammo and he took off out of there and disappeared. Had another associate ring my boxes of bulk 22 up.

Moral of the story....they are clueless. Dont believe them and show up for the evening stockings. May be different at your stores but the 24hr ones here stock at 8-1030

I second that - people make stories just to be "important". I have almost identical stories from Dick's Sporting Goods.

It's weird that I have consistently had the exact opposite hold true in my area for ammo and other shooting stuff. Places that say In Stock pretty much never have any while some of my biggest finds have been specifically listed as Out of Stock.

It's a little frustrating to drive 45 minutes - an hour to a store and come away empty handed only to find what I was looking for at a store that was 10 minutes from my house. Glad it seems to be accurate for most though.

Same story at my store. Said it is put on the shelf in the middle of the night usually gone in less than 24 hrs.

I want to but I haven't been able to find the frasmistat used to iron the dimple out of the rim, nor the tromboencabulator to reapply the primer into the rim.
Dillon is all out of both!
