We Stand with The NRA

I don't do business with businesses that denounce the NRA

I just canceled my alarm service with SimpliSafe and contracted with another company due to SimpliSafe's nonsupport of the NRA. Here's the email I sent them:

I just canceled my service with SimpliSafe due to your business pulling their support for the NRA and the 2nd Amendment. I’ve already contacted another company for monitoring service (more expensive) but I'd much rather pay it than do business with your company. I’ll also let my family members who use SimpliSafe (due to my earlier recommendation), friends, and businesses to cancel their service and go with the other company I am now using.

300 million gun owners

5 million NRA members

SAD!

Shame on you freeloaders!

I think it’s 300 million guns and around 100 million gun owners. Things are looking up though. I think there were about 2 million NRA members when I joined back in 1979. Room for a lot of growth, though!

I'm pretty sure there are about 300 million guns in private hands in the US, but not 300 million gun owners, which would mean that everybody owns one. I've seen several statistics that reflect, like money, that 1-2% of gun owners own most of the guns . . .

A Missouri boy said long ago, "There are lies, damned lies, and statistics". I don't know anybody around here who does not own a gun or three (or 32,726)...

I was a member for many years and a NRA spokesperson made a vile comment about certain LEOs. He did not speak for me and I withdrew my support. This evening I rejoined the association. I've come to understand that I do not agree with everything they say, but they are protecting freedom and in no way are the cause of violence.

I never said that lots of people didn't own a gun or two. I just mentioned that with 300 million guns in the U.S., there aren't 300 million gun owners, and that fella that owns 32,726 guns, if he has 32,725 gunless friends, is part of a statistical group in which every person owns an average of one gun . . .

My son summed it up neatly this morning. "No one joins the NRA for a 5% discount on a rental car."

I thought what GaryS's son said made a lot sense....so I used his comment in contacting those companies no longer supporting the NRA discounts. I let them know that "I didn't use the discount anyway", but they would no longer see me or my family using their company in the future. That punishing law abiding NRA members because the FBI and the Broward County Sheriffs Department didn't do their job was poor business, and there were many alternative companies that would now get my $.

I like Hickok45, and remembered him having a link to the NRA membership. I decided to sign my oldest son up and used his link. Standard yearly membership through his link was 30.00 as opposed to the normal 40.00. Opted out of a magazine, Guns and Ammo are pretty much all I read anyways.

It’s apparent that the importance of the NRA, is evidenced in the vitriolic rhetoric of the anti gun forces. The left needs a boogeyman and the NRA is it. So be it. I stand with them and support them as I believe in their message.
