This afternoon I took my wife's former boss shooting (he used to own of the company she works for but sold it). He's a new shooter and extremely enthusiastic about learning. It's so much fun to introduce people to revolvers who only know semi automatics. He'd never fired a revolver--much less a S&W, so after two cylinders through my K38 Target Master that was made in 1953, he was dumbfounded at how accurate and fun to shoot it is. His gun is an XD something-or-the-other (not knocking it--I truly don't know anything about the new composite semi auto's), and he was truly impressed by a good old wood and steel revolver.
The point of this is that everytime we get an opportunity to introduce someone to a quality S&W firearm in a safe shooting environment, we should take it. It gives them the opportunity to experience a piece of history and see why wheel guns are still the desired carry weapon for many people.
After that I pulled out my carry gun--a 1966 M28 Highway Patrolman 4", and we shot that awhile. He shot better with the revolvers than he did with his SA XD .40.
Have a terrific week, and support the ammunition manufacturers.
