I only got my CC last year and .380 is my EDC caliber. I've owned my .44 Mag Redhawk for 35 years and hunt and shoot with it a LOT. So, I chose "Other"

9mm in one of a few Semi Autos, or .357 Magnum in a 2.5" 686+

I voted 9mm in the Survey.

P64 in 9x18. Looks like a PPK but hits like a Mak.

"Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

9mm JHP is the superior round because it's relatively cheap and readily available. The reason the military use .45ACP is because they are not allowed to use 9mm JHP only FMJ.
Ok .45ACP JHP has superior stopping power but the trade off is marginal considering you can hold double the number or rounds in a 9mm mag.

The military uses fmj rounds in every caliber since the Hague Convention of 1899. The USMC used to use .45acp then switched to 9mm in the late 80's and then back to Colt 1911 calling it M45, in 2012.
But your point of holding twice the rounds in 9mm is true if you were only thinking of 1911 .45 single stack but the higher capacity .45's (Glock21 13 rnd) would cancel out your point. The .45 is better man stopper with ball ammo than 9mm ball simply because it makes a bigger hole and doesnt usually pass all the way through like 9mm does, keeping the kinetic energy and momentum of the bullet in the target, instead of a pass through and hitting harder because of it.

If I was speculating on why USMC went with Colt 1911 is because technically it was within their current arsenal to use; meaning no Congressional bull---- to deal with getting new contract with "lets say" S&W which are of better quality and do not crack after 12000 rounds, which the Colt 1911 did when USMC tested them. I for one think they should of used S&W 1911 or S&W m&p. They probably just wanted to skip all the red tape, and got the Colt's a lot cheaper. Plus the USMC is dept of the Navy and gets funding like a red headed step child gets for their first car.

.45 ACP in my PC 1911 most of the time. .380 Taurus TCP if I'm in a hurry.

Bersa thunder 380 plus, 15+1 or S&W 5906 15+1.

In this world a man must either be anvil or hammer.

Everything I own is some sort of .45 caliber, whether it be .45ACP or or a Judge that shoots .45 Long Colt as well as .410 Shot Shells.

around home 380, around the city, my PPS in 9...

My first gun was a 3913TSW. (9mm) carried that for quite a few years until I found a gem 4040PD New in Box. (.40). After carrying that for 8 years I moved to an M&P40c. While I enjoy 9mm and think its a fantastic round for self defense I've learned how to manage the higher recoil of the .40 and shoot it as well. I carry a 1076 (10mm) when I'm camping.

Various...

including .22 LR,.22 Magnum, 9mm and .44 Spl, but mostly .32 ACP - ball, out of a 4.5" barrel, giving a bit over 1000FPS. 8 rounds. It's a late WWII era Browning Mod 1922.

My favorite is My Ruger SP-101 with a 2.25" Barrel.
I usualy load it with 125 grain Hornady XTP Bullets in 357 Magnum sine I figure most times the bad Guy is only a couple of feet away and it's easy to conceal.
