Yes. It's just approaching the subject from a different angle, expecting that gun owners/concealed carriers won't have an argument ready.

I don’t agree with Massad Ayoob on everything unless it might keep me out of prison. But that being said, i know where he’s coming from but I don’t carry more than an extra mag for most daily occasions. I don’t go into harms way or even go looking for the trail head anymore, so having one reload is sufficient.
In reality zero reloads would have lasted me for the last 60 years. But I still have 3 of these around, they work and they're surprisingly comfortable
So, why not?
If your gonna carry 1 spare mag you may as well carry 2.
My reasonable preparedness is:
-praying about everything and anything
-staying alert and "in-tune" with what is going on around me
-always doing my best to "keep the peace" and de-escalate
-walking away if it's safe to
-always having the entrances and exits visible if possible
-always having an escape plan
-always practicing and being intimately familiar with my firearms function
-and always having a firearm on me or within reach, even when I shower, whether it's my 12 gauge or my Taurus pocket .380 (that has never failed me, lol). What I carry or have within reach depends on where I am, what I am doing, what I am wearing, who is with me, the law where I am, etc.
This is not an exhaustive list, everything changes with circumstances; but these are the things always on my mind...

In Calif in the 70s carrying a concealed loaded pistol was a misdemeanor. Lots of us carried. It wasn't a game of GOTCHA like today. Now it is ridiculous, everything is a felony. One little thing and you lose your rights. It's actually a lot easier than trying to fight 2A. Just have a grocery list of felonies for every detainment. LE can lie like a rug to you but its a felony for you to fib to them. Example:
In California, providing false information to a peace officer is generally a misdemeanor, not a felony. However, in certain situations, such as when it's connected to fraud, perjury, or to evade proper identification during a lawful detention or arrest, it could be charged as a felony.
Sad watching a once free country become a police state. I'm not siding with the bad guys, but when your life is in the hands of some Bozo it is not good. The judicial system is a club and most of us are not in it.
