what do we have here?

best I can tell is a 65-3 with a 3" barrel.It has some markings I am not sure of and would like to know more about it...in the yoke it has 65-3,I got that one...but it has a "s" stamped over a23 and 57x72 under that ...it also has an "11" stamped above the trigger below the cylander...can someone please help me learn something new today...Thanks

Forget yoke area numbers except model numbers-they are factory assembly numbers and mean nothing to the user.
The "11" probably an id number for whatever agency used it before.

My 686-6 has the serial number in the yolk/crane area? the grips on the 65-3 cover the butt...is that where I need to look?
