What Has Happened to the Smith and Wesson Forum?

"There are topics that are forbidden and language that is forbidden".
Nope. I have made on-topic replies to open and ongoing threads, using completely acceptable language, and have had multiple posts of mine deleted without any notification, warnings, or infractions. The admins here censor based on viewpoints.

"Many forums are changing that"
I have yet to see a single other national (not regional) firearm discussion forum that charges a monthly fee specifically to list firearms in their classifieds. Go ahead and point one out if you know of one.
I searched your records. You have had 7 posts removed. Of the 7, 3 were for rule violations. The other 4 were in threads that were either started by a troll, started about a current GB ad, or it one that appeared to the posting from a vengeful ex-wife. When a thread is deleted, all posts go with it.

Outside of the tread deletions, non of your post deletions were based on view points, they were for rule violations, suggesting you either failed to read the rules or chose to ignore them.

The bottom line is if you are unhappy here, why come here?

Hate to tell you guys, but "the blue" forum isn't very well respected in the online community. I am a member of many gun forums and this one has a reputation. From the time I've spent here, its well earned.

Cry harder. Stomp your feet and wave your fists in the air. Protest heavily.
I have plenty of grounds for comparison. It is what it is.

There is a reason the "other" S&W forum is growing.

You're obviously unhappy here.
It's my pleasure to improve your quality of life.

We had 22K people viewing the forum earlier today. The "other" forum was started by someone booted off this board who worked here and they don't publish those stats.

The copycat forum also has 1/6 of the threads we have and under 1/3rd the members.

God speed. ;)

Honestly, I come here to learn and to share what I've learned. Some of the comments on my threads hijack them or are just plain rude, but most are made by agreeable folks who I've come to respect. Consider the fact that comments that are waaay out of line are typically made by unhappy people who likely are more upset about something other than what they've read here. Don't give them a pass, but there are ways to answer somewhere reminding them that gentlemanly conduct should be the norm.

From what I have seen on many others I have no issue with them seeing us that way. I do not go to many forums besides this one any more. To many of them seem to make the rules up as they go. Here they are pretty consistent, and I am not a 'grab the popcorn' and watch the scrum kinda guy.

Neither am I. Just want to enjoy myself here and can't be bothered with any confrontational idiots. Go play in traffic then.

Got dinged awhile back for inappropriate language to a poster and got my attention. There's been times have typed a response then deleted before posting. Discovered the 'ignore' button and use on occasion as do not suffer what I deem to be foolishness well. 'Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt' comes to mind. Enjoy the variety and relish the knowledge shared here. As in any group we'll not always agree...look at our elected members of the Senate and House. Glad to be a member.

I understand what the OP is saying. There seems to be little patience for someone with a different opinion. This happens mostly in the LOUNGE. It does seem to be a recent phenomenon. And it does seem to involve members I’m not familiar with. Although I’m sure my “tone” is not always perfect either. I guess the first step is to acknowledge it.
The concept of these forums gives people the opportunity to say things they would never say to your face… hence the brazen comments we sometimes see. The Mods here do keep a pretty good handle when comments go south. A specialty forum usually has some very knowledgeable members who know their stuff and when they respond to a question with facts it can ruffle some feathers. This usually occurs when a comment is made that may expose a buy or trade someone made when their holy grail purchased has been qualified as not that great of a deal…

I joined this forum in 2007 looking for info on a Performance Center revolver I bought used. I received one ding early on and learned my lesson. I was asked to be a moderator a few years later...

If I didn't appreciate this resource, respect Lee and the vast majority of our members, I wouldn't have volunteered thousands of hours supporting the board.

I've learned a lot here, benefitted from that knowledge and made friends. There's always a few sour grapes in life, but the quality of this community is head and shoulders above the general population. Thanks to all of you for your compassion, generosity and sharing of knowledge.

BTW, here's the gun that brought me here:

With over 30yrs in shooting sports, 'shooters' are some of best people have known. Participated in matches. outa state and weekend so shared team shoots and breaking bread together. Some have become lifetime friends on and off the range. Difference here is no face to face meeting. Recognize names who I know want to eagerly read their threads. Have PM'ed few to ask advice off the forum. Respect without face to face can be tuff sometimes but we can be civil even in disagreement. Glad i found this forum.
