What is this flaming bomb cartouche, S&W 586? Any knowledge is much appreciated 👍.

***Editing to add***
I've been doing allot of online research and found these attached additional pictures. They show screenshots of the information I was able to find that may help.
***Also just added a couple better pictures of the stamp***
-Which clearly show a symbol inside the 'bomb' part of the stamp. This would seem to go against the opinion that 'someone did it with a flaming bomb punch' that they bought. Why I say that, is because I also looked up the flaming bomb metal punch that Numrich sells, for example, and the 'bomb' portion of their stamp, is void of any markings on the interior which are clearly present here. Additionally, the stamp present here is not even the same exact shape as the US flaming bomb arsenal stamp, as the stamped flame part is also different. Therefore, I am of the opinion, that since interior markings on the bomb portion of the stamp ARE present on such stamps - like the Belgian's proof marked S&W guns when being imported - that this particular stamp has some similar sort of significance.

I have never seen any other modern S&W stamped with that military style cartouche. It either belonged to a group or individual who took it upon himself or themselves to stamp it. I highly doubt that it was done at the Factory.

Not sure where the “Looks like the Belgium proof mark” comment went. It was right on, WISCO had these among others.

I have a complete semi-auto top end that has them. Belgium import not WISCO.

*** Edit to add another picture *** (Not mine I “stole” it here)

My Model 31-1 has the WISCHO (Wischo Jagd-und Sportwaffen GmbH & Co. KG, Erlangen, West Germany) distributor marking along with Belgian proof marks and the date code for the proof firing. Here's a photo of the barrel flat markings. The Belgian proof is often mistaken for the US "flaming bomb" proof but the stylized L for Liege is the giveaway.

Be fair. None of these pictures are the original picture you posted before editing your post 13 times starting 3 hours after the flaming bomb comment was posted.
Your original 243x540 had the revolver horizontal in the bottom 1/4 of a vertical picture, not the 1024x461 picture you have now.

edit - sorry, it wasn't three hours, it was posted 7 minutes after so that's more like 4:50

Not uncommon. On a 64-8 that I have.

Besides the marks on the barrel flat on my Model 31-1 there are marks on the rear of the cylinder face like what Sistema1927 shows above and another Liege "flaming bomb" mark on the bottom of the frame forward of the trigger guard. I have not tried to photograph them.

Perhaps part of the proof requirement is that each critical component i.e. the barrel, cylinder and frame need to be stamped.
