What is your personal grail gun?

Lets say, you walk into your local gun store. The owner pulls a box holding your personal "Grail gun". What is it, How much would you pay, and why?

If you already have it, please post some pictures.

Mine is a 2 1/2" S&W model 66. I'd easily pay $450-$500 for a pristine one. I have almost always thought it to be one of the most beautiful revolvers made.

Singer 1911A1 # S800001 I would happily scrape together an OBSCENE amount of money, because its singer #1.... I wonder if one day a metal detector will turn it up in Europe.... most were supposedly lost by the AAC during WW2....

hopefully someone wisely stashed a few of the early ones away, in a barn, on property I will unexpectedly inherit soon..... hahaha see what dreaming gets ya?!?!

I have the 66 but $450-$500 wouldn't buy it. Lol.

My holy grail would be a 6.5" model 29 like Dirty Harry had. $800 would be my number for a nice one.

A 3" 686 CS-1. What would I pay, , everything in my safe (which isn't much). MY M&P Sport can be replaced, my Glock 30 can be replaced, my 10/22 can be replaced, my 28-2 can be replaced (although it would probably not be part of the deal as I've become rather attached and don't want to go through this to replace it).

I had one and stupidly let it go.

Would be hard pressed not to pass on a nice 639, round trigger guard with really nice wood. A 4" 586 no dash, -1 or -2 in nice shape would be hard to pass up. What would I pay? depends on luck and timing `cuz im not rich.

As far as a Smith goes, mine is a 4" model 57 with a S serial number and cokes. Fortunately I have found this one and it switches between the cokes and these old antique ivories ala Elmer Keith.

If I have something I wanted as a grail gun, it would now be considered my favorite.
I asked for a 27-2, S S/N, 6 1/2" blued beauty. A friend sells me a Pre Model 27 with a 6 1/2" barrel for half the price.
I hope my friend walks in on his grail gun at half price when he has the spare change.

I have several:
A 5" 1950 .44 Target
A 4" 1950 .45 Target in .45 ACP.
A 5" 1950 .45 Target in .45 Colt. Catalog says a few were made in that caliber but does not say what barrel lengths.
A 5" M29-1.
All of these are extremely rare. I already have the one mentioned in the OP. My 2 1/2" M 66-1 is my favorite carry revolver.

Why: I have always liked the unusual and different.

Smith & Wesson: Model 29 (no dash), new in the box
Amount: Going rate
Why: Something that my grandson can keep and hold on to.

An 8" Howitzer with lots of ammo.

Really, any gun would be a Barret in 416, any Smith would be a decent doudle action top break big bore. Both of which are normally more than I am not willing to pay.
