What is your Shield round count?

600+ Rounds of Walmart federal 100 bulk pack. No issues. 9mm

9mm with 525 rounds since 11/16/2012

300 WWB - Had 3 fail to fires with this ammo. 2 of these 3 were likely user error. Also, I have decided not to use this ammo anymore.
100 Federal Champion - flawless
100 MagTech - Had 1 FTE, but this was an odd situation. I released the mag with a round still in the chamber and then fired the round. The slide stuck back on the casing that was about half way ejected. This very well could have been user error.
25 Hornady Z-Max - flawless

Less than 1% failure rate so far, and I'm not comfortable even saying these failures should be attributed to the Shield. I'm loving this gun and feeling more and more comfortable with it each time I go to the range.

I have had my Shield less than 2 weeks and have been to the range 1 time - 100 rounds WWB, 25 rounds Federal Champion, no problems.

1st Shield acquired April 2012 (9mm) - 1945 rounds - 0 failures
2nd Shield acquired 11/2012 (9mm) - 425 rounds - 0 failures
3rd Shield acquired 11/2012 (40) - 307 rounds - 1 FTExtract - ammo related

60 rounds. I know, I know.....Im so ashamed but my M&P22 and XDm are getting the action as of late.

Hayden.

Two 12 round clips under 250 that I shot through my M&P 9c. My Shield has had one FTE when I let another shooter try it out (I figured she limp wristed it.) Other than that no problems. By the way they've all been Remington UMC 115g rounds. I have found that some of the federal 127g HP rounds seem to snag when taking them out of my magazine by hand. Have not had a chance to shoot any of the Federals so I don't know what will happen in live fire yet.

Shield 40, have put 220 rounds through it all 180 grain, some flat point and some hollow point duty ammo. Everything has worked as it should. Several other officers who have fired it have been impressed.

About 150 of 115 grain mixed HP'S and FMJ. Tried some 100 gr today using 4.9 gr Win 231. Those didn't eject all of the time. Need to find the right amount of powder for them. Neighbor gave me 6 or 7 boxes of them so hate not to use then. The 115 gr worked good.

I am now up to 2700 rounds with 0 malfunctions.
The rear sights now have Hi-Viz green dots, as the white fell out. I really hope Santa gets me a reloader.
Merry Christmas S&W fans.

Going strong

500+ and going. Two FTE. These by other shooters and maybe a little limp wrist on their parts. Gun runs great.

Now if I could just get a set of orange front-HD sight made for my 9mm Shield I would be a very happy man.

450+ so far through my Apex-kitted Shield 9, absolutely perfect functioning from the first round. Not a single failure to feed, eject, etc. Ridiculously easy to shoot well. I don't know exactly why the recoil is so soft and "jumpless" for a compact pistol, but it danged sure is. I added the CTC LaserGuard to it, and like it a lot (old eyes). After shooting the Shield for a while, I went out and bought a full size 9 with the Range and Carry kit, a GREAT deal from S&W, especially after S&W threw in the $50 military rebate. The full size is an equally nice shooter (it's also Apex-kitted) with of course even softer recoil, and has equally perfect function so far, but I've only put about 250 rounds through it to date. CTC LaserGrips work wonderfully for the Full Size, almost like Smith built them in. Couldn't be happier, this will be my house pistol, I'm retiring my 342 AirLite Ti.

Just realized this might read like a Shield/M&P shill piece. My apologies. I got too happy about my new pistols, lol.

I bought mine in 9mm on 12/6. Put close to 500 rounds the same day in the range, mostly WWB 115 gr and PMC 115 gr, but also some HST 124 P and Hornady Critical Duty 135 P. I had few jams and sent the gun to S&W for service. They polished the chamber entry and replaced the extractor. Turnaround time was phenomenal - 6 days.

My total count for 11 days (excluding time the gun was at S&W) is between 1700 and 1800 rounds, including at least 400 various JHP (P) and (+P) like Ranger-T, HST, and Critical Duty.

I think I had around 8 range sessions in total. After the service at S&W, I had two more FTF/FTE with HST 147 (P) out of 50 rounds box, as well as i had problem with slide did not stay open after last round. The latter most likely due to the quality of Mexican Aguila 124 gr ammo I bought for under $200 for 1000 rounds. I also got 500 rounds of Winchester 124 (P) NATO, which were flawless (as well as WWB 115 gr were flawless).

After i started loading in each mag Winchester NATO as very first round and the rest rounds from Aguila - i did not have "open slide" problem anymore, that's the reason i think it was the ammo. Nevertheless, i think the 124 gr works the best in the Shield and planning to use only 124 gr for training and 124 (+P) for SD. I still have 150 rounds left of HST 124 (+P) and 50 rounds of Ranger-T 124 (+P). that should last me for some time.

With each training session I feel more and more comfortable of using this gun as EDC and proud to own the Shield.

EDIT***********

Just watched hickok45 videos and it's very possible that two FTF problems were due to my holding/grip techniques. I'm still a newbie
