I was out walking this morning and flushed a little brown bird off this nest. Never seen these before here in NY (Adirondacks) It was moving too quick to give me a really good look.

Not sure where in the world you are located. Here in Kentucky, Robins lay eggs that color, but ours have been hatched out for a while now.

It could be the lighting but they look too dark for Robin, I'd guess Starling. It could also be a Bluebird, females can appear very brown. Its hard to tell without a size comparison. Bluebird eggs are by far the smallest of the three.

I'd bet they're Robin eggs. Starlings are black and usually have 5 or 6 eggs, and bluebirds usually nest in cavities in trees and posts.

Why is it everytime someone starts a thread about wildlife some freak has got to chime in about "how good days tastes", "mmm good for da belly", " I likes mine over easy", "that rack would look good on my wall" I have in my life killed most things that walks or crawls. A guy at work was gonna squash a lady bug the other day. I told him go ahead if you can make me another one. IF MY ATTITUDE ABOUT NON HUMANS IS WRONG (HUMANS MAKE THEIR OWN WAY) THEN I GUESS I'M ON THE WRONG FORUM.

Settle down big guy. Try the wildlife forum.

I'm bettin' that the fellers makin' jokes about eatin' them critters and eggs would be standin' right over that nest protectin' them till Mom got back if you knew the truth!!

:)

Likely a robin or european starling. It is hard to tell from the photo, but the nest looks better constructed like a robin's. Starling eggs are a little smaller than a robin, and sometimes darker blue. An eastern bluebird's eggs are quite small, just a little larger than a dime. The others are about quarter sized.
