What S&W Revolver do you regret letting go of the most?

let go of two that i miss, my first mod.57, 6" accurate as all heck w/ speer sjhp, and accurate #9. second a 6" mod. 25 in 45acp that i bought at monkey wards, that was another fine shooter. sniff ,think i'll go crack a beer.

In the early 1980's a friend of mine wanted to thin out some guns he never shot. He sold me a 19-3 6" box & papers for $200 and wanted me to take a similar K22, but $200 was a lot of money back then.

I wish I had bought it.

I had a model 19 w/ 2.5" barrel and RB. Don't remember the dash, but it was pre-MIM parts. Traded it fifteen years ago before I got into S&W's. Found a 66-5 to replace it.

K-32 Pre War ... I remember it well ...

I was there ... we were partners on the purchase of several items .... I had to KICK you under the table to shut up because you didn't know what it was and you kept saying you didn't want it for the lousy $1000 the guy was asking. I had to overstep you and say ... well, " I " want it. And, yes " I " sold it the same day for you, not an hour afterward, with one phone call, for an obscene profit for you. I also didn't care to sell it but you remember who we spoke to (keep it secret) he tempts like the devil for nice S&W's. NO BODY could have resisted over a 400% profit in a few hours. Don't cry too hard, Mike. We also got the 8" target New Model3 in that purchase, remember ?

PS: I sent your HP Laptop out for repairs so you can surf without getting hacked again from the old laptop. Should have it in a few days.

Oh, and, I have to go pick up your Volvo wagon Monday. Need to talk to you before then to square up the paperwork.

I regret selling my Smith & Wesson Pre-War K-32 Revolver in near mint condition. I sold it about 15 years ago and I did not realize how rare it was. I saw that I could make a quick profit on the gun. Shame on me for thinking about only making money. It was a learning experience and I have never seen another one I was able to buy.

A few years back had to part with a mid 1990's era 2 1/2" 66 and a mid 2003 era Model 29 that I bought used for $350 I think I miss the 66 the most though-that was one accurate little snubby.

I know it says MOST, but there were several. First and foremost, a Model 57 in pristine condition, complete with presentation case that also looked brand new. Also a 4" 629, and a 5" 629 Classic. wyatte

I've only sold one, a 629-1 8 3/8" to a fellow on this forum. Not terribly uncommon but it was a really nice gun and I knew the history of it. I was so upset, I went out and found a 29-3, a 629 no dash and a 66 no dash to replace it. So much for getting a little cash out of the gun collection.

A year or two ago, I found a NIB Model 66 with 2 1/2 inch barrel. It was a 1975-1976 vintage. I sold it for a hefty profit. Wish I still had it.

The other one was a 5" 38/44 HD with S prefix serial number. Definitely should have kept that one, although I prefer a 4" barrel.

I most regret selling my first gun. A pre model-10 M&P.

I bought from and traded it in to the same shop (for a 6 inch 686 I later traded on my 629 Classic and is my number 2 sales regret). While I had it I added Pachmyar grips and attempted a full reblue with a Birchwood Casey cold blue kit (didn't turn out all that well but it was a learning experience).

I need to write them a letter and see if they'll go through the bound books for me and pull the serial since I can't find it in my records. Hope that maybe they'd give the address of whoever bought it after me if they can do so without breaking any privacy laws.

I hope maybe I can track it down and buy it again.

In about 1996 I sold a beautiful 6", 586 no dash. I bought it new in 1981 for $230. I was 19 years old had a good job and still lived with Mom & Dad.
It was still like new when I let it go. Still sick about it.

I bought my first revolver, a used 6" Model 66, in 1982. I sold it the next year because I was starting college and felt that I should sell things that I didn't absolutely need in order to pay for my education.
Turns out I didn't have to sell the gun, and later regretted selling it. It was in perfect shape with nice target grips. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say.
