What S&W Revolver do you regret letting go of the most?

This One

This One, S220004, one of two known 4 screw 4" Nickel 29-1s. :(

I regret selling almost all of them

2 4" 29-2's in the presentation cases. Sold to go older and more desirable collectors, 3 pre model 17, 5 screws but I still have one of them. a pristine 4" model 24-3 with box etc. A 6.5" 44 special 1950 target and a 640 no dash that I purchased a couple of years ago with box, docs etc in excellent condition for $325. Just to name a few but I sold my first duty gun that I had purchased when I started in LE in 1971. An early 66 no dash with the all stainless sights. I purchased it for $110 as I recall.

Ow!

First Smith was a 66 no dash. Sold it in college. Missed it so much that I had to get a 66-1. A year later had to sell it for the same reason.

I had bought a new, in the box model 624 with 3 inch barrel, .44 Special, and sold it to pay for a model 3913. Stupid, stupid, stupid. The 3913 is long since traded away.

A 27-2 blued beautifiully glossed 3 1/2" a friend sold me with smooth presentation rosewood grips that had aged perfectly. It was more a shooter, but I listed it with the grips before I realized it. I miss the grips worse than the gun, but still miss them both.

Sold my best S&W and do not miss it much, as it was out of my league.

For me getting rid of the Model 547 4" was a mistake..
I needed the money & got a great deal with a forum member here but miss it the most of any I had to sell, next up would be the Model 342Ti Pre Lock..
I will have another 547 someday!! maybe even a 3"er for carry??

40-no dash, number matched grips & box

I miss this one the most...sold it to a S&W Forum member. I never shot it but always was tempted to. I wonder if he has?

27-2 4" Nickel. Really regret selling this one. Recent resold for $250 more that what I sold it for. Didn't realize the low production of this configuration until later.

let go of two that i miss, my first mod.57, 6" accurate as all heck w/ speer sjhp, and accurate #9. second a 6" mod. 25 in 45acp that i bought at monkey wards, that was another fine shooter. sniff ,think i'll go crack a beer.

Not let go but never acquired count?
In the early 1980's a friend of mine wanted to thin out some guns he never shot. He sold me a 19-3 6" box & papers for $200 and wanted me to take a similar K22, but $200 was a lot of money back then.

I wish I had bought it.

I had a model 19 w/ 2.5" barrel and RB. Don't remember the dash, but it was pre-MIM parts. Traded it fifteen years ago before I got into S&W's. Found a 66-5 to replace it.

K-32 Pre War ... I remember it well ...

I was there ... we were partners on the purchase of several items .... I had to KICK you under the table to shut up because you didn't know what it was and you kept saying you didn't want it for the lousy $1000 the guy was asking. I had to overstep you and say ... well, " I " want it. And, yes " I " sold it the same day for you, not an hour afterward, with one phone call, for an obscene profit for you. I also didn't care to sell it but you remember who we spoke to (keep it secret) he tempts like the devil for nice S&W's. NO BODY could have resisted over a 400% profit in a few hours. Don't cry too hard, Mike. We also got the 8" target New Model3 in that purchase, remember ?

PS: I sent your HP Laptop out for repairs so you can surf without getting hacked again from the old laptop. Should have it in a few days.

Oh, and, I have to go pick up your Volvo wagon Monday. Need to talk to you before then to square up the paperwork.

I regret selling my Smith & Wesson Pre-War K-32 Revolver in near mint condition. I sold it about 15 years ago and I did not realize how rare it was. I saw that I could make a quick profit on the gun. Shame on me for thinking about only making money. It was a learning experience and I have never seen another one I was able to buy.

24-3 4" blue
624 4"

A few years back had to part with a mid 1990's era 2 1/2" 66 and a mid 2003 era Model 29 that I bought used for $350 :( I think I miss the 66 the most though-that was one accurate little snubby.

I know it says MOST, but there were several. First and foremost, a Model 57 in pristine condition, complete with presentation case that also looked brand new. Also a 4" 629, and a 5" 629 Classic. wyatte
