What was the happiest period of your life?

Being retired now for about a year and a half, I'm pretty much enjoying leaving the work a-day grind of the past 50+ years behind. I would add though, the happiest would be the birth of my daughter and our adoption of her. I held her in my arms when she was 2 or 3 days old. She will turn 33 this month and has been the joy of our life.

It's been a long haul. There were times when burning bridges felt great as sometimes changes (occasionally painful) needed to be made. "Resilience" is one of my favorite words, but I sure can't do it all on my own.

There are days when I'm inclined to think I finally know what's going on, but in reality I still only have my learner's permit.

Two of my favorite songs are Sinatra's "Send In The Clowns" and Hank Snow's "that Old Dotted Line".

One day at a time.

Happiness changes as I age, as a young man chasing women, drinking and carrying on made me happy. A little later getting married and raising kids made me happy. After that, bitter sweet happiness empty nesters. Now grand kids all over the place make me happy.

Ive had a couple,One was when I got out of Marine Corp's Boot Camp and the other was watching My Children being Born.
