What was your first S&W and how old were you at time. This K-22 was mine
I got in in 1964 at 14 yr. old. It isn't a show piece anymore, I've carried it 50 yrs. Holster rig is old Larwance, expensive outfit at time. Doctor said my birth
would have be easier on my Ma if I hadn't favored Mex style holsters.

I purchased a S&W Model 19 (4 in.) in 1971 at the Post Exchange located at Fort Richardson, Alaska, when I was a 2LT in the U.S. Army. I used it on several hunting trips as a back up to my Remington 700 ADL 30.06. My brother owns that pistol now. He is a former police officer in Stillwater, Okla. I purchased a S&W Model 39-2 from the same PX while in Alaska. I still have that pistol. I sold that rifle many years ago to help fund my daughter's graduation at the University of Oklahoma. I am a graduate of the Okie State. The Bedlam football score this year did not favor my daughter's school.

I purchased this Model 66-2 while I was in college - I was probably around 27 yrs. old at the time. The dealer offered me a choice between the Model 66-2, or a Model 65 with a 3.0 inch barrel. He wouldn't budge off of the price of the Model 65, and I was barely able to afford the Model 66, so the Model 66 went home with me. Fortunately, I still own it, but it took me almost 30 years to finally find a Model 65 with a 3.0 inch barrel.

M19 6" in 1968 for NRA bullseye target shooting.
Got a free box of target .38 loads with it.
Same time a M41 for the same reason.
A Colt Gold cup for the same reason.
Wiped out a lot of cash at the time...

I bought the mine only 3 years ago, a 29-5, my age was 49. I upgraded with LPA sights and nill grips, for shooting, not for collecting. Since then i bought two more, a 686 5" Pro Series and just a week ago a 686 Competitor .

19-4 in 1981. I was 17 so my dad had to do the paperwork. $235 with tax and a box of ammo. I still have it and it's still in great condition.

A Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman 4" bbl in 1979 or 1980. I was 27 at the time.
Sadly, I sold it in the early 80's to buy a 686-1 6" bbl for $300.00.
I wanted a stainless gun, and didn't realize back then what I had.
It was one of my biggest regrets (I've had a few, but then again too few to mention).
I have since accumulated several Highway Patrolmans, but I
still wish I had the first gun I had bought.

My first Smith was, and is, a M46 target. I got it from shipmate and Navy Pistol Champ Don Hamilton in 1967. Many thousands of rounds later it is still my favorite gallery gun. Four or five years ago I got it out of the safe and sent it to the Custom Shop for a dress up and fix up. Returned to me in better than new condition. First revolver M19-3 "snubbie" purchased from a widow about 10 years ago.

4" Model 57

My first S&W was a 4" blued Model 57 that I bought in Jacksonville, FL in 1978. I was 23 at the time and working my first job after graduating college. I bought the revolver with the wooden presentation box. Unfortunately, it was stolen during a daytime break in a couple of years later...I still have the box (which Joe Cebull re-lined for me a few years ago) and tools, and the box now holds a 4" Model 29-2.

No, I don't still have mine.

My first was a Safety Hammerless, 4th Model, in .38 S&W, blued, w/ a 2" barrel. It was in excellent condition, and I paid $150 for it. I bought it at a gun store in Idaho Falls in 1990, I was 31 at the time.

I traded it for a Ruger SP101. You know what they say about hindsight!

Mine was a model 36, 3" square butt I bought in 1968. Took it to Vietnam and sold it to our battery XO when I left. Country. I still have the box around here somewhere.

Mine was a 6" 25-5, 45 Colt. About 16 years ago. The gun was accurate and beautiful. I got a yen to shoot "heavy" Colt loads and traded the 25 off for a Ruger BH and some cash. I would gladly trade 4 BH's to have it back.

Mine was a high school graduation gift from my mom and dad in 1984, when I was 17 years old. It's a Model 19-5 6-inch nickel with the 3 T's, white outline rear sight and red ramp front sight. That one will passed down to my son someday.
