Here is another question to ponder...Just an open question I have long ago made my decision Just seeking some other ideas.
So it is 3 am you hear an entry What is your base of operations?
Please exclude a 12 ga Pump I am seeking Other Bed stand weapons?
Just a mind teaser Your opinion?
What will help is a good security system, some cameras, perhaps a dog and a really large and heavy gun safe.
Here is another question to ponder...
"So it's 3PM in the afternoon and you don't hear the break-in because you are across town busy at work. What do you do?".
What I am getting at is many break-in's actually occur during the daytime when the thieves know people may not be at home. They could've been casing your place for days and watching when people are coming and going.
In this case no firearm will help you. What will help is a good security system, some cameras, perhaps a dog and a really large and heavy gun safe.
I know it's not nearly as romantic or exciting as the proverbial "Guy breaks in at 3AM so I rack my 12ga. pump and take him out" scenario but it's the truth.
Like my father told me NUMEROUS TIMES, "What you WANT and what you get is likely two different things."
..."Please exclude a 12 ga Pump"...
...a Claymore outside the front door?...
...did you know you can't eat a Claymore?...

awaken your spouse and send her to investigate the noise, while you dial 911 and hide in the closet. (after she leaves the bedroom, lock the door behind her.)
After reading this sad thread, I am appalled, at what will most likely take place if many of this forum's members' homes, are actually broken into, by a "Home Invader". It amazes me, the number of our members that actually believe, that a 911 call, would insure their safety, in a break in of their home, or that the police, are obligated to come, and protect them. The protection of our home, is provided in this way, I have a good alarm system, and have strategically placed firearms in several places in the house, my wife is trained in the use of them, and we are absolutely, willing, and able to use them, if need be. My 911 call will be made, "after", we have stopped any attempted break in, of our home. I don't advocate this system to others, but merely tell how it's done at our house. Pardon my long winded rant, but this is my 2¢ worth on this matter.
