My nephew, Steve, was the executive chef at the Cincinnati Hilton for several years before he was head hunted to Hilton Head.

I have tastes the wares often.

Can't afford them now, though.

Sister and her husband were in town this week to pack up Mom's leftover inventory and personal collection of antique glassware. We spent four days packing it up and loading up the U-Haul they are driving back to Colorado Springs. There was some leftover green beans and mac-n-cheese from a couple days ago. I cooked up a ground turkey patty in some Worchestershire, soaked the green beans in garlic and onion flakes with some chicken stock added, and added some half-n-half to the mac-n-cheese to reconstitute it. Filled me up nicely. Really strange to see most of the glass cabinets and lawyers bookcases empty. They have been full of old glass as long as I can remember.

Went to Chuy's and had Tex-Mex for lunch with my best friend. Had beef, chicken, and cheese enchiladas. So tonight will be minimal. Maybe just a bottle of Boost. Who knows.

Italian beef sandwiches on fresh hoagie rolls , sausage stuffed portobello mushrooms, rosemary and olive oil seasoned roasted potatoes.

Dinner last night: New York Strip Steak with a morel cream sauce and caramelized onions with melted brie. Dessert was Dutch Baby Pancakes with Berries.

Last night was Baby back ribs rubbed with Fat boy's all-purpose rub. On the weber kettle. Tonight, will be tenderized pork tenderloins.

Grilled black angus butter burgers stuffed with diced jalapeño on the Big Green Egg seasoned with Mrs. MetalMan’s secret seasoning.

Served as a salad with heirloom tomatoes, sweet onions and dill pickles.

First dinner of the summer season on a just cleaned back porch.
