Well, now that Beryl has passed, the eye went right over us just outside Houston, and the power just came back on after 7 hours, I shall have power to heat up dinner. Now I don't have to have cereal and warm beer like Hawkeye did.

Finally got my internet back today after Beryl. At least I have had power most of the week, so I did not have to cook up all the meat in my freezer on the grill and then live on PB&J. When I checked my emails I had one from Luby's making sure I knew they were open. So I had Doordash bring me a meal. Chicken fried chicken, mashed 'taters and green beans. I am full as a tick.

Well made a trip to Aldi's (50 miles round trip) and did get a treat. Those little lamb chops they sell, fried in cast iron. Forgot the pic, was busy manning the fork and knife. And they were very tasty!

Beer can bbq grilled chicken. Resting now. Can't wait to taste this. Skin came out perfectly crispy. Yum yum!!!

Tonight it's country pork ribs and FRESH brussel sprouts (BS and local corn made their debut this weekend)! Around here anyway …..

They were a little fatty but picking thru, the meat was delicious! And the sprouts? Always the highlight of the meal for me!

I do cereal as dinner or a late night snack fairly often.




Tonight I nuked a small potato and added butter, french fried onions, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, fiesta blend cheese and some diced chicken breast.

There is nothing like a fresh, perfectly cooked boiled egg. I use a steamer and it took a while to get the perfect amount of water to cook those eggs right. Hit the spot perfect tonight. A little salt and pepper, down the hatch.

There is always some real deal shredded wheat in the cupboard. About the only thing that gets a little real sugar (brown) put on it anymore.
