what's up with the census thing?

Hey,
When I got my census form hanging on my mailbox I took it in the house, filled it out, and mailed it back the same day. Today when I got back from town some old grey haired dude came around from behind my house looking at me as I pulled up the driveway. This is extremely rural Mo. and you just don't get much of that kind of thing without consequence. I told him that I had sent in all the information that he needed to know, but he kept asking me, in very broken English, for my name, phone no. and address, best time to call, and about the status of my neighbors residence. I told him to have a nice day and went in the house. Wonder what he was doing behind the house, I didn't find any droppings or such. Probably just nosy. Yes he did have proper ID, but I don't know(like Bubba) 'bout what?

I have been hearing several strange stories concerning census workers, and they are very disturbing. I hope the census workers don't have some misplaced sense of authority as it will cause problems.........Hopefully common sense will prevail!

I know several of the census workers canvassing our area, nice kids for the most part, with a couple of retirees mixed in as supervisors. I don't think they are causing any problems, or having a hard time. They are actually using my restaurant to meet at the end of the day.

I have heard that ACORN has the census thing well in hand, and is managing it just fine.
