My M29-3 Lew Horton Special
M24-3 Lew Horton Special alongside my M629-5 Mountain Back Packer I carry exclusively for the Great Outdoors...
M24-3 Lew Horton Special again
M629-5 MBP stand alone pic...

All of them have their carry roles depending on if I'm Kayak-Fishing, Jeeping , Hunting, Hiking, or rolling around the Suburbs. This trio does really, really-well, and excelling at all of those rolls like no semi-auto I have has fulfilled yet to date.

My One and Only

I sure would like a 3" 13, but prices and availability have become issues, for me...
So, for now this will have to do. It's a 65-3, that "fell into my lap", thanks to the guys at the LGS. It showed up for consignment, a year ago. It never got put in the display case. the guys set it in the back room, and called me, saying they had a "cool revolver" I might be interested in, and they're holding it, until I can get there, to check it out. I couldn't get out my debit card fast enough!
With CBI, tax, less than $600, OTD. I wouldn't sell it for twice that.
Absolutely love this oversized snubby! Dead nuts accurate, and comfortable in the hand, even with 125 screamers, although its usual faire is 158gr .357.

Is that a guard you have on your front sight up there on that 500PC? I like all of those BTW

This little cannon is just a blast

Good eye! That's is a story all it's own. It's not a guard it is a black steel front sight. I bought the gun new in February and I didn't catch that it had the wrong FS on it until I got it home. It supposed to only comes with the Hi Viz front Sight. (like you see n the 460PC) Well I called S&W Customer right away. The person looked up the gun and it was manufactured in late December 2020. The CS Rep said that someone must have just put the wrong sight on it and that they would send me the correct sight if that was ok. I was fine with that. . Except that they were back ordered!! So my manufacturing antenna go up. December manufacture date and out of stock on Hi Viz sights. Me thinks this as no mistake. Just trying to get all the product out the door at end of the month, quarter, year. And S&W will deal with the consequences later. Of course JMO. But I worked in aero space manufacturing for 35 years. This scenario is very probable.
Anyway...I am still awaiting my front sight. I have called as recently as today. They are still back ordered. The nice lady told me to call back Tuesday to see if they had come in. If not I may just get a new gun with the correct sight.
So that is the story of that front sight. I bet you are sorry you asked now !!:D

I have two 3 inch model 36s that I really like. One has small stag grips that makes it very easy to pocket carry in the summer.

If not I may just get a new gun with the correct sight.

I replaced my sight (SW3001), ordered directly from HiViz. On the original, the paint was wearing off so the contrast was less, I switched it out getting the red option (which I prefer for some reason). I still have the used sight I don't need anymore, just PM me if you want it

Maybe this 36-6 right this minute.......well heck, I don't even know what and how many 3" anythings I have tucked away:confused: After another cup of coffee this morning, this may change;)

I have several 3" S&W's and am very fond of them all. But my favorite has to be a plain vanilla Model 10-5 with a round butt. I've owned this one twice. First time I saw it was at a gun show being sold by a young man back in the 80's. He was tryin to sell it and another to get some money. Looked like he needed it. He was firm on his asking price so I let it ride. Saw him a couple more times at the show, still firm on the asking price. I wasn't flush with cash either but I asked him for his address and phone number which he gave me. Went home and couldn't quit thinking about it. Had the opportunity to travel through his city about a month later and so called him and asked if he still had it for sale. Yes was the answer so I asked if I could stop by, again yes. Did so and I purchased the gun for his original asking price. He and his wife looked like the could use the money.

Long story short, a good friend saw and really wanted that revolver. I eventually found another gun I really wanted so I sold it to him for more than I gave for it, his offer to buy price. Told him if he ever wanted to sell to call me. After a couple years, I saw him and he asked me if I wanted it back and I did. How much? He said all he wanted was his money back, which I was glad to pay. It ain't going anywhere till I'm gone. It's got one of my son's name on it.

Sorry for the long post. I thought some of you might enjoy it, given that most of us have sold a gun that we regretted sell. Not often do we get the chance to buy it back!

The model 19-7 K-comps are some of my favorite 3" S&W.

Here's a Lew Horton 19-7 K-comp with KCP prefix and a first run 19-7 K-comp with SDA prefix.

Were the K Comps shipped with the round butt combat grips or were they added later?
