What's your favorite cocktail recipe?

My favorite hot weather drink has become;

some of this,

plus some of this!

Generally I stick to makers mark and ice, but if I need something different, I generally will drink a hurricane:

2 oz light rum
2 oz dark rum 151
2 oz passion fruit juice
1 oz orange juice
juice of a half a lime
1 Tbsp simple syrup
1 Tbsp grenadine
orange slice and cherry for garnish

I would like to suggest the following for your consideration:

2 Shot of bourbon (Markers Mark or your preferance)

over a 1/2 full pint glass of ice

Add Diet Mntn Dew (must be diet dew to taste right :) )

Then add, One slice of fresh pineapple ring, chopped up in cubes to the top.

Stir and enjoy on warm summer nights.

Glenfiddich 18 yr. old single malt with a wee splash of club soda. I'm going to get one NOW!!

For those in the know, I have a reserve of Popcorn Sutton's 'shine as well, but we will not discuss that here.

It s legal now. Sold as Popcorn Suttons Tennessee White Whiskey.

Made by his helpers with stills he designed, using his family recipe.

His wife and Mr. Hank Willams Jr. Own the company.

I have to earn mine. Walk 1200' up the holler to the spring, open the steel door with the heavy duty pad lock, retrieve the bottle of Wild Turkey and aluminum dipper, take large drink from bottle, chase with dipper full of spring water. Sit down and enjoy the woods for a while.

I've got wide ranging tastes. Don't like the same thing all the time.

However, my current favorite is the "Dark & Stormy".

Tall glass, couple lime wedges in the bottom and fill with ice.
Add two generous measures of good rum. [I like Zaya]
Add couple dashes bitters and top with Ginger Beer.

Cheers!

I like the Dark & Stormy as well. My recipe is slightly different.

2 oz. Goslings Black Seal rum,
Pour over ice, fill with Ginger Beer,
and add a lime wedge.

1oz vodka-3oz sloe gin-2oz 151 rum-fill rest of pint glass with Annie Green springs strawberry wine cooler.

Actualy it don't taste all that bad...And it's really pretty when you puke.

I finished drinking several years ago. But prior to that, I'd make my favorite top-shelf margarita with: Patron, Grand Marnier, Cointreau and fresh squeezed lime juice, on the rocks, salted rim.

Wow, I'm impressed by the sophistication level.

From my younger days-
Unscrew the cap, mix with a liplock...

Yep you are correct. I have a bottle of that one too. One of the better imitation 'shines out there.
