"Favorite"? Tough question.
For its looks, it would be difficult to choose any other than my no-dash 57.
For "cozy" feelings, it might be the 327 PC a family member gifted to me.
For the historical factor, probably my 1937 Brazilian.
For it's "wow" factor, maybe the .460 XVR.
For rarity, probably the 64-4 NY-1
Guess I need to stop somewhere....

When I was a young fellow, Skeeter Skelton, and Bill Jordan convinced me that the best all around handgun a man could buy was a 4", medium frame 357 magnum. You could shoot cheap 38's or full house magnums. They both highly recomended a Smith and Wesson Model 19 or grudgingly maybe a Colt Python.

It didn't take long to figure out the Python was about twice the cost of the Model 19, so that became my "favorite" and in most ways still is.

I've owned a bunch of 19's over the years, but only this one now, a 19-5, and it might be the best of the bunch.

Then I was able to finally get a Python, and it's now a close race between the two.

But in the last few weeks I bought a 28-2. The 28-2 is another one of those guns that reach way back into my past. I remember seeing one in a G.E.M. store years ago and thinking "That's what a handgun should look like. Shooting it the last couple of weekends at the range has moved this one WAY up on my list.

That's about as close as I can call it. If I tried to narrow it down anymore I'd have to just say "All of them."

Favorite would be a 625-3 w/5" barrel. Used to plink with it a lot but not so much past 5 years or so --- my 76 year old eyes and trifocals don't do well at all. Second would be a 14-4 w/8 3/8 barrel. Prettiest would be a be my Gold Cup Series 80 - but was a waste of money as I never was able to dial that one in.

:D
Wow
We got some nice ones in this thread!
Keep them coming

This is a relatively easy question for me to answer…
I like 629's of all dashes and barrel lengths
But if it's a 4" and shoots well (seen a few the don't)
It's got a home here
In my experience the four inch guns shoot both mid range loads and full bore loads to basically the same point of impact on the 25 yd target, at least to a usable point
They are also fairly easy to conceal in the rigs I have
To me a 4" stainless 44 magnum is like a 4 wheel drive pick up
Just handy to have around
In my opinion

To properly answer that question, I'd have to add the tag "for xxx"
Where xxx is the current need or pleasure.
I've always been a K Frame fan..."for duty carry" because I carried one for years.
(2.5 M19)
But currently my fave is a Model of 1988 5 inch..."for range days"
Sweet shooter right out of the box and for me the extra inch over the JM or PC .45 feels more balanced.

I like the old pre 18, the mod 18, the mod 36, the mod 27 and mod 28. I don't have the means to "collect" so this is my assortment, I like all the vintage revolvers from the quality days of S&W.
