Usually I just bring them home, clean, inspect, fire repeat and place in safe. On occasion I show them to my wife and she seems to be somewhat impressed:

"Oh that's nice have you seen where I left my phone?"

Sometimes it's "What do you need with another gun?"

That one's easy to answer because I'm at a stage where I have to sell one or two to buy another one, and that's my reply.

What about your spouse?

Pretty much the same as yours, she probably isn't too wild about me getting another firearm but she generally knows I traded one to get one so she's ok with that. Admittedly I have more than I really need to have or should have but she never gives me any grief on them. She even shoots with me once in a while.

Truthfully, my wife is mostly indifferent ...... she see my guns often, but doesn't really know when one is new to me or not.

She doesn't ask about new guns and I don't ask about new shoes, etc....

Don

Pretty much here as well, tho she did stop at my opened gun safe one day, looked in and sighed, then walked off.

I brought home a new revolver one day (I worked part time at a gun shop) and showed it to my 1st wife (now deceased), and she commented, "that's nice but why don't you ever buy rifles?"

A few days later I came home with 2 new Ruger 77-V's in .308 and .22-250. Showed them to the wife and her comment was "very nice, it's about time".:D

Now my 2nd wife, and the last, does not care if I buy guns or not either . If I want to sell one she usually asks if I really want to sell it or not. A few days ago a good friend sent me photos of a Colt Model 1921 Thompson with asking price around $30,000. Told the wife I'd really like to buy it. Have the funds, but we are still looking for a home closer to the Family farm, so I won't spend the money for it. (Sigh)

I'm fortunate to have a spouse who is also my friend. She enjoys hearing about my latest find, cheers me on when I'm bidding on an auction, and is my second set of eyes at the gun shows. She carries concealed, but prefers striker fired autos over revolvers, and that's just fine with me. I make sure she always has plenty of ammo. We go to the range together regularly and, truth be told, she's a better instinctive shooter than me. You may be developing a mental image at this point, but it's probably wrong. She likes watching soap operas, collects cookbooks and designer purses and prefers dresses rather than jeans. I try to be as supportive of her hobbies as she is of mine, because I'm very lucky to have her as my partner.
Good shootin',
Doug

Mine is a mechanical engineer. She enjoys guns and shooting and we shoot matches together. She does my engineering drawings and solid modeling on the computer. She runs parts on the CNC mill while I'm doing prototypes and parts on the other one. She calls herself The Shop Wench. We do life together. We are both OK with the other one getting another gun as long as the bills are paid. When she gets a new gun, I am allowed to shoot it some, but not until she shoots it first.
