2 weeks ago I bought a BNIB 627-0 model of 1989 #101024
BNIB which here in Canada is impossible to find...... well almost because I just bought a LNIB 2nd one. 2 in 2 weeks! The BNIB is a BEK serial number and the LNIB is a BEF. I'm stoked!

I don't have any saved pics of the BEF but here is the BEK.....

Nice Smith! Buying two in two weeks here in the US would be hard to do also, might want to buy a lottery ticket with the luck your having.

Does the BEK gun have a Wischo GmbH (West Germany) import stamp? I ask because I've seen it's twin, BEK650x, and that gun did.

Very COOL! You are on a hot streak. What is next? I ended up with a 13-2 at last gun show. (super nice) Next show coming up! Who knows? Congratulations on your purchases. Bob

Those are fantastic guns!! They absorb magnum recoil very well, so they are not unpleasant to shoot. And have the checkered topstrap and rib. Very cool. The 5.5" barrel is pretty unique for post WWll guns.

Try not to wear it out :=)

I've always liked those guns and came real close to buying one on GunBroker a few years ago. The bidding was getting close to the uncomfortable point price-wise and I discovered another auction for a 686-3 National Match, a 5" unfluted .357 of which only 500 were made that were supposed to have factory hand-tuned actions that I could buy for what my next bid would have been for the 627-0. After some thought, I bought the more limited-production gun.

But I still have those cravings...

Ed

OP-Very nice 627-0! I have never had a gun with en unfluted cylinder. How do you like it? I would like to see a of the topstrap if you get a chance.
This is not my 1st non fluted S&W. I personally like both fluted and non fluted. I haven't shot this and since it's brand new in the box, I don't think I will. I'll wait for the other one to arrive which has already been shot.

A fine revolver the M627-0. You're a very lucky man to have two such fine revolvers in the condition they're in. What are you thoughts having shot the 2nd revolver? (By now you should have!!! :D)

Regretfully, I have still not shot it. Been too busy buying all the Colts gravitating towards me! (some spectacular finds!!) I'm hoping to get some time to try it on Sunday. I'll check back in.
Meanwhile, I put a set of conversion target grips on one of them that I really like a lot. I'll post a pic tonight.
