Where are the Shield Plus Magazines?

Well, most of us didn’t buy it for the range, and our ranges allow us to have our mags loaded and pistols holstered or in a bag. I guess it depends where you live.

I bought the gun to carry, and still hope at some point to do that. And I’ll say it for the 999th time and I frankly don’t give a **** who doesn’t like it…this pistol was sold with the increased capacity being the number one value. Otherwise the Shield 1.0 or 2.0 are exactly the same gun. So not having mags for sale after more than 6 months is malpractice.

If it truly is malpractice as you suggest, see if a personal injury attorney will take your case.

Might be that you don't understand the definition of malpractice.

Your words are getting very close to defamation, especially on a public forum. Maybe you should dial it back a notch or two. Just a friendly suggestion.

I'll just buy another for spare mags.
Mags should be cheap as heck in 6 months or so

Maybe you stated once before and I missed it...
How many mags to you need on your body in order to feel you can carry? 23 rounds (10 + 13) isn't enough in your neighborhood?

Have any of you owned a pistol before?

One is a 13 rounder and one is a 10 rounder. Assuming I want to carry the pistol loaded with a 13 round mag, then I’m left with the 10 rounder.

I should be able to carry a spare 13 rounder or have them to take to the range to practice. What if the 13 rounder breaks or I break it accidentally? I also like to rotate my loaded carry mags and ammo.

I have at least 6 mags have for every pistol I own. Maybe that’s more than most, but some of you seem completely dumbfounded that someone would want additional mags. Do you have one shirt, one pair of pants, and one change of underwear too?

You’re joking? That’s supposed to be humor? Do you know the meaning of defamation?

The truth is the best and absolute defense. My lawyer is standing by if they want to sue me. 😂😂😂😂

Personally I'm pretty irritated with Smith & Wesson for being so short-sighted and utterly clueless about serving their customers.

...

If they're going to release a gun, they should have a warehouse full of parts at the same time to support that release. That's just common sense and good business, something S & W apparently lacks. I won't be making this mistake again.

I am just asking, as I do not know the answer:

Do you know if S&W manfactures the mags or do they sub it out?

Do you know if there are supply chain issues on the parts for the mags?

Do you know if the manufacturer of the mag is being impacted by Covid procedures?

Inventory/manufacturing hits are occuring everywhere. Ford stopped taking orders on the full sized Bronco.

Heck, two refridgerators we ordered at the beginning of the year were just delivered. We are still waiting for couches and chairs to be manufactured, and they are now to be delivered at the end of September. Some lighting on order since February just came in.

What is happening here does not surprise me.

For everyone so upset - why are you so upset? Isn't life annoying enough? Do you really need to get angry over having to wait for some spare mags?

Umm... Yes. Been shooting since the 60s, got my 1st bottom feeder in '70 and have been carrying since '89. Buying a new platform, where I've had to wait over 6 Months for extra mags, a holster for that new platform, etc. is nothing new to many of us. When they get here, they get here.

Anyone who 'needs' extra mags right away and buys a new platform firearm that doesn't have extra mags available, is the (apparent) noob.

For my USPA/IDPA pistols, I do have 6 mags for each, but basically, it's simply so I don't need to reload after each stage. for my Shield, PF9 and G48, having 3 mags each (when they became available) has sufficed... 1 locked, 1 reload and 1 for the range (and rotate them when I shoot the older carry rounds). The only mags I've had break are the cheap KCI brand. Haven't had an OEM mag break on me yet... Even in competition.

Magazines now in stock

The Shield Plus 13 round magazines are now in stock at several on line retailers

Some stores got them today and they sold out in an hour

Or less, I have got 2 in stock notifications, had the mags in the cart at one and was putting in my CC info when they went out of stock. The other was out of stock when I clicked on the link. Both with 15 minutes of receiving the email.

Just as I wrote when this thread started...
Once they start hitting the market, EVERYONE is going nuts hitting all the online retailers and selling out within minutes.
This is yet another version of what happens during ammo shortages.
(anyone else seeing the similarity yet?)

Now that it looks like they are actually showing up, I would suggest this:
Rather than joining the feeding frenzy, scouting all the online sellers (as everyone apparently is) Call/email your LGS and see if they can put you on a list to set a couple aside for you.

Yes I will do that - wait at a minimum another month or two and then pay $20 more per magazine, I don't think so. I just ordered some this morning.

You do that if you want so the impatient ones like me can buy them online.

$20 MORE than online? Including shipping???
You obviously do not have a good relationship with your LGS (or he's a gouger (in which case, it would not be MY LGS).
Mine matches online prices pretty well, so I don't have to waste money on shipping... Sorry for your circumstances.
By all means... Contribute to the feeding frenzy. :D

OK, I snagged 4 13rd mags and 3 10rd mags for my shield plus and 2 13rd mags for the wifes shield plus. Kinda pricey at gunmagwarehouse, but when ya need em ya need em.

Are you aware we are in a messed up world now? Sig sent out guns with 1 mag and some coupons a while ago.

When you buy a new product there are always growing pains.
