Where are the Shield Plus Magazines?

Lol guess you did not read the post.$35.00 each.
Now quit whining and go find some magazines.
I will not say what you sound like.
Also have no interest in selling magazines nor do I know the seller.
I do know I am not the only one to buy his magazines for $35.00 each.
I do know you have no idea what you are talking about.
Have yourself a good day.😄

Learn to read. Giving an opinion is not complaining.
Telling some to quit whining looks like a child.

Anybody that would claim to check gun broker 2-3 times a day for Shield Plus mags sounds like someone is trying to drum up business by extolling the virtues of gun broker and gouging on mags.

Sounds like a troll, looks like a troll.

Added to ignore.

Capitalism at its finest!!!

I own an S&W Shield Plus and have been looking for magazines for several months since I purchased my firearm.

I, too, am unwilling to pay over $125 for a $35 magazine, but clearly some people will.

A number of 13 round mags were offered on GUN BROKER . COM just in the last couple days. From the data, someone purchased 15 of them (hey buddy, you really need 15 mags?????).

I'm sure they'll show up for sale on GUN BROKER . COM as soon as they're delivered. You can buy a lot of different firearms with the profit from 15 magazines at $125 or more a piece.

MecGar's timeline ... indeed

S&W's plan and timeline is completely dependent on MecGar's timeline.

Sing It, Rob !!!! MecGar has limited production capacity, is located in Italy (potential for supply chain problems), and is EOM supplier for S&W and others.

My Canik TP9 uses MecGar mags for OEM. A few years ago I started stocking up on the 18-rounders (Canik part MA548) when IL started threatening to ban "standard capacity" mags ... yeah, I have a decent supply.

The lack of extra magazines isn't that big of a deal. The range near me requires that all firearms be locked open and all magazines unloaded before entering. So whether I have to load two magazines several times or several magazines once, it's not that much of a difference. I certainly didn't let the current lack of spare mags keep me from buying a Shield Plus when I wanted one. They'll be available eventually.

Yea, kinda depends on what you do with you pistol, whether it's a big deal to someone.

Any of the Gunsite classes I've taken, or others classes 2 mags would be a joke.

I purchased two Shield Plus handguns, as well as a Shield Plus Performance Center. Now I have six magazines total. Problem resolved. :D

How long are we going to keep beating this dead horse?

Yep. It is annoying that they’re not available, but in the grand scheme of things, this ranks pretty far down on my list of priorities. Lots of people going through a lot more hurt than guys who need more than two mags for a gun right now.

When I was a child (in the ancient fifties and sixties), my mom always told me not to waste food because, "People in Africa are starving." There is still lots of suffering in the world, but it doesn't stop my quest for the perfect hamburger.

The problem is, if the Mods close this one someone will come along and simply start a new thread just like it. :(

No community standards are being violated, so why would it be closed down? If people want to vent of the lack of available magazines, let them. I've been complaining about poor road maintenance in Colorado for the last 25 years, and it looks like I'll be complaining for at least another 25. :D

Threads get closed for more than just violations.
Many times they are closed simply because the thread is merely spinning its wheels and going nowhere (or Knowhere, if you're a GotG fan ;)).

I can understand requiring guns to be completely unloaded when entering the range. Someone that arrives with a bag full of loaded guns and flags people getting them pointed downrange would be a problem.

But why do they want all the magazines empty?

I prefer to slow things down a little by loading at the gun club instead of arriving with a bunch of fully loaded magazines. When shooting at steel plates I like to load six rounds into a couple of magazines, shoot both and repeat.

But I cannot see any reason that arriving with a bunch of loaded magazines would be a safety issue.

Sorry - I should have explained better. This particular place (the only one fairly near to me) is a combination pawn shop / gun store and indoor firing range. I assume they are trying to minimize the chance of an armed robbery.

Could also be as the range staff looked for some competency and even the type of ammo. Gander used to have a range close to me, I would hit it over my lunch period. So to save time I would preload mags which was ok as I was a frequent user and they knew me and the ammo (reloads not allowed) I used. But generally they required mags to be loaded on site. As they would catch those trying to use reloads and some who frankly didnt know how to manipulate a mag let alone the gun.

The robbery part you mention does make sense, just adding other aspects I have seen as well.

Very disappointed in S&W for not having a supply of magazines available for the new Shield Plus!! If you want people to buy your product, plan ahead for the request for extra mags will be forthcoming!! Poor planning on Smith's part!! When will they be available, anybody know???

Three 13 round magazines were delivered to me from Hoffmans monday.
They were shipped fast and packed well. They were just as advertised brand new,and perfect condition.
And the price was reasonable at $35 per mag plus $12 shipping.
Magazines are out there that are reasonably priced.
Thanks Hoffmans for being an honest dealer.
