If you could buy one revolver from the list below, which would it be.Next month i get my bonus and this is the list i'm chosing from. This won't be for just carry but range and well for lack of better words, just a wish list item i've been wanting.Btw way i already have a 686 4 inch but wouldn't mind having a second one just for the fun of it.

IMHO, I would get the "60" 3" I t would be a great "carry gun" plus while not up to your "686", it will work for the Range.

I just went thru this same decision 2-months back.... I chose the 686 4".

I have a 4 inch 629 and 686. Would love a 3 inch Model 60 to go with my 2 1/8 inch one. Go with the Model 60 3 inch. I would love to get a 3 inch with adjustable sights.

If I had a shootable 686 4" I would not bother with another so I vote as such.

#1 model 60 3 inch barrel
(assuming I had no carry gun)

#2 model 686 4 inch barrel
(I have no use for a 44mag)

#3 model 629 4 inch barrel
(last on the list :D)

Everyone needs a 3" model 60

Yeah, I know. I just can't seem to find one. That's the one I'd vote for, too. The closest I could come was a 642-2 with the lock. My second pick would be the 4" 686, to go along with my 6" 686. -Ed.

I'll buck the trend and say the 4" 629. But then, I have a thing for N frames . . . . and everyone needs at least one . . . .

Since you asked the following is just a personal opinion and may not jive with yours or others persona opinions.

Since you already have a 4" 686 my pick would be something other than a copy of a gun you already have. IMHO The 3" 60 is a little long for carry and a little short for range work, I would choose the 629 and load it with 44 special loads since in my old age I'm not to fond of magnum recoil.

Go with the N frame! It will handle from mild to wild. That 629 would be a pussycat with specials and is fun at the range. Bigger bullets chew the center of the target quicker so ya got to change them a little more often, ha,ha,ha. Go 44 or go home.

So i'll through this in the ring,in a couple of years i would also like to pass it down to my oldest son after i have sent it back for a custom engraving job at S&W.

Now which would be a better choice of the 3.Btw i'm not having his name ingraved just scroll work.
