Who else has dumped other platforms for the M&P

I am actually going to look at a M&P FS today at Cabella's to see if it fits my hand better than my H&K USP.
Be sure to have them let you try each of the 3 backstraps that it comes with. I did it AFTER I had bought it (from a private individual) but I tried all 3 and found the one that fit my hand perfectly.

Bought an M&P9c and love it. Just added a little brother, a Shield.

I bought a 9 full size and the 9c but did not keep them. I like the 3rd Gen s&w better. I do not like a striker fired pistol and I want a visable hammer and decocker/safety. I guess I am old and set in my ways.

I was the exact oposite. I sold off a gen 3 1006 for the M&P 40. I'll never go back.

Hi all,
I have found the light with the M&P's I sold 4 glocks (never really fit my small hands anywat), Springfield 1911, Ruger Blackhack 357 and mt favorite SP101 327. I shoot the M&P's better and love the way they feel in hand. I got the M&P22 for my daughter to shoot (she didn't like the Ruger Mark III) ,when she can get it away from me, and just added a M&P9 fs, I love them both but not sure if the Shield 9 or compact 9 is next. I haven't seen the Shield yet LGS hasn't had any long enough to look at. Need to replace my G27 for poket carry.

It's funny that you mention this. The gun with whatever grip that was installed fit my hand pretty good. Behind the counter, there was the S&W display for all three of the M&P grip sizes. It took several tries for the clerk to figure out what I was talking about before I got to try each. I was running on a schedule so couldn't take my time to do a detailed study. I hate it when I know more than the clerk behind the counter.
It looks like the H&K will be traded off for an M&P sometime in the future.

I suppose one should stick to one platform and foresake all others but I'm just not built that way. I like my variety so the idea of selling off 1911s, Browning High Powers, Sig Sauers and Berettas is just a little too much for me. I probably will give up the Beretta Nano as it duplicates the Shield.
If you are the M&P would be a good one to settle on.
I have to admit at the moment the house gun is a Sig 239 SAS which is one of the sweetest shooters ever.

I am contemplating dumping a Walther PPQ for a M&P 9.

Can you elaborate as to why?

I'm in the market for one of these but I'm having trouble deciding.

I've shot the M&P in 3 calibers and was overall satisfied (not exactly excited about the trigger though), but only dry fired the PPQ.

I have a 9c and intend on getting a Shield soon. I expect to thoroughly clean, oil and long-term store a couple other guns to concentrate more on the M&P platform, but if anything gets sold or traded in the near future, it will be for all the usual reasons, not for the sake of going "only M&P".

Started with Glock, but the grip is so fat that I could not properly hold the grip which affected my shooting. Bought a M&P9c, had new sear and trigger work done and sold my G26. Since then I have bought the BG.380 (sold the LCP) and just last Friday bought the M&P Shield 9mm. IMO .. just better/smarter to train on one platform for SD purposes.

Haven't dumped it yet, but I"m no longer a Glock supporter. I've fired them many, many times, but was never a "plastic gun" fan. That and I never liked the way the Glocks felt in my hand until I shot my neighbor's Gen 4 mixing up the backstraps. I went out and bought one of the 19s only to find out about the problems they are having after the fact. AFter sending it back for replacement parts I decided to give the M&P a shot last month and bought myself a 9c. Now I'm seriously considering trading the Glock for a FS M&P .40

I have converted to all 1st -3rd gen S&W's as well as all metal other brands. I have 1 plastic gun left to dispose of .. Ruger SR9C. Then I am where I want to be. All metal and wood. Just my personal preference. The M&P .45 I traded shot just fine without any issues. I just want metal receivers. To each his own.

Got my first M&P a few weeks ago 40fs test fired 07 police trade in. Haven't shot it yet but will soon. Guess i'm alittle scared seeing how I never shot a semi auto. Love the feel of it in my hands been really getting use to trigger and taking it down.

I sold my Beretta 92FS, one of the best 9mms I ever shot, to get my M&P9. Man, I hated to get rid of that gun. Man, am I ever happy I got a M&P9. Both are keepers, but the gun budget dictated otherwise. Someone out there has a great 92FS. I have a great M&P9. So it goes. I win.

My Beretta 92FS will be the last of my guns to go. I have not shot a better semi-auto. I love it............

Bought an M&P .45 FS and ditched my KelTecs (definitely good decision). Also, my wife wants an M&P and we'll be getting her one as soon as finances allow. She originally had a KT PF9 which she made me paint the polymer pink, but she had troubles hitting anything she aimed at (God only knows where the bullets were actually hitting because we couldn't see them). So we stumbled across a Sigma 9mm for $229 (with original box and two mags - 1 10rd and one 17rd). So we bought that for her, she went out to the range that day and promptly put 3 into the head of a silhouette target. And the KT hurt her wrist but the Sigma she likes. But like I said, we'll be upgrading her to the M&P (probably 9c) when we can.

Amazingly enough I managed to sell off the 2 KelTecs (pink one included) the same day we bought her gun. So what we got basically paid for her gun and my 1938 Mosin Nagant 91/30 which I conveniently found there while her background check was being done.

I had the same issues with my PF9, couldn't hit **** with it. Traded it in for the M&P 40c and am much happier. My father recently traded in his Glock 27 for a FS M&P 40 and is also much happier.

Just sold off my F&N FNP 40 for the M&P 40c. My other gun is my G21 slim frame I HAVE to carry for work. I would not carry it if I didn't have to, but ...

Everything is application driven. So I haven’t sold off any Revolvers or 1911’s (all S&W’s), but all my Tupperware guns are M&P’s. Full size 40, 40 Compact, and soon to be (I hope) 40 Shield. But I doubt I will get rid of my Kahr MK40 for a micro gun.

My AR’s, .223 & .22 are both now M&P’s, but still have my 308 Panther until S&W gives us a .308.

I wonder when S&W will give me a high quality .308 bolt to replace my Remington 700 VLS 308.

Up to this point, my polymer frame 9mm's were exclusively Glock Gen4's. I'd rented XD's, Beretta 90-two, Px4 Storm, Ruger SR9's, and never handled a polymer frame gun I liked as much as Glock.

Two weeks ago, I bought a M&P 9. I bought it based on forum reviews & because I was curious. Just wow. Superior ergonomics, excellent build quality, superb accuracy in my hands.

Now when I hold my Glock's, the grips feel like I'm holding onto a rectangular block of wood. I didn't know what I was missing until I fired the M&P 9.

I've held a M&P Shield, M&P 22, and a M&P 9c. They all feel excellent in the hand.

I thought I'd never consider of selling off my Glocks. I think I even stated so in another thread here. Now, I'm about 90% sure I want to sell both of my Glocks to fund another M&P 9mm semi-auto purchase.
