Who else likes Pachmayrs?

I typically like wood stocks on a nice revolver.

However, I've grown to like Pachmayrs, particularly the Gripper model, which seems to be discontinued for the S&W and Ruger models. I got the last NIB gripper I could find for my 686 snubby.

What I like about them are the looks and the material. They seem to be narrower profiled than hogue style synthetic grips, more streamlined, and they don't stick to clothing like hogue grips do. This is a big plus when I carry the gun.

It's a shame they discontinued my favorite model grip. Anyone know why? Anyone else a fan of these? Are they durable for long term use?

Thanks.

I have Grippers on a GP-100 and others on S and W's.

They fit me well, handle recoil well, and don't scratch like wood does.

The old two panel style is better made and easier to fit to the gun.

I put a pair on my 1984 model 639 the day I bought the gun. It went thru 30 years of qualification and carried as my off duty weapon. The checkering is worn down a little but still functions today. I did the same with a model 36.
Yes, they last!

I used to really like them but the last few fit poorly and the grip material was too mushy.

Before or when Lyman took them over, they discontinued my favorite Pac Product; the 1911 & 1911A1 rubberized main spring housings!

I prefer a wood grip, but on my high recoil 44's and Contenders "Goodyears" it is!

Not a big fan of Grippers, but the Presentation (Small) are by far the best grips for me in N square butt size. Also excellent in K square. The Compac are probably my best grips for my round-butted 4.25" 25-2, while Compac Pro are excellent for my snub 19 & 66.

Pachmayrs are some of the best revolver grips for me, although others are better for certain guns.

I use "Pachs" a lot.....they are comfortable in my hand and to me it just seems right to use the pachs on the guns I daily carry or take to the practice range (save the nice wood for show & tell).:)

I use the Grippers on some and the Decelerators on my .44 mags.

I too, use the gripper on pretty much anything I shoot. They won't win any beauty contests but, with the long reach, they fit me well. They also made my grip more consistent gun to gun.

I have Packhammers on all but one of my 1911's. No Gripper models though. I don't care for them at all.

To my hands the best grip ever made for a Super Blackhawk was the Presentation Small.

Seems like about 30 years ago Hogue kinda moved in and took Pachmayr's crown.

If considering rubber replacement grips Pachmayr's are still my first thought.

I've run the Grippers on my Security Six for 30+ years, I have them on all 3 of my SS's. Really handle the recoil.
I have their Compac on my 3" 686+, covers the backstrap and I can get a real high grip on it, I carry it IWB.
