Called a few places here... no luck. Gonna have to look online

The good thing about this place is they have AWESOME mil/leo pricing, and 9pro would have been $460 dollars... that's cheapest I've heard of... problem is, it's a 6 month wait they said (I guess it's special order from factory? no idea)

anywhere else I saw (even if it said out of stock) was around 560+

soooo, I wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for me.

I'd hate to wait 6 months for this thing, but I guess I can make it happen... It will be TOO painful to wait that long. might as well pay extra 100 bucks and take an extra shift at work. LOL

budspolicesupply doesn't seem to list it either so...

I would start a Google (or other search engine) search online for the 9 Pro you want:

178010 - 5" with Fiber Optic front and Novak rear
178035 - 4.25" with night sights.

Check and see who shows it in stock and start making some phone calls. They are getting scarce. Good luck with your search.

As a dealer I have had 9mm Pros on back order since March of 2011. At this point I am not very proud of how S&W conducts business.

That's just horrible... looks like something to hold on to if I ever get a hold of it! :(

already tried... no luck. I found a thread where someone was talking a local sports store had one for 569, but I'm not sure if they'll ship. I'd have to call and ask

I ran into the same problem before I found mine in November. Just have to be persistent looking, took me a few months to find mine.

I had to wait 6 weeks, when I ordered mine.

When did you order yours?

Quantico Tactical says they can get them but can't give a firm delivery time. Might give them a call. Local shop has one in stock, but I too hate to pay full price, which I think is around $600-$625 there. Thinking of just putting a 9mm barrel in my full size 40 till the 9 Pro's or L's become available again.

Another Option

Here's something you might consider. Buy the M&P 40 Pro (178032) 5" FO front Novak rear and then purchase the S&W 9mm barrel for it and some mags and viola, you have a 9 Pro. There are quite a few people on the forum who convert their .40's to .357 and 9mm with the stock S&W barrels.

A quick check at Bud's shows they have the 40 Pro in stock....:D

Thought about doing this also!

Me too even though I have both the 9 & 40 Pro. Converting the 40 will give me another 9 Pro which my wife loves to shoot and gives me the option of .357 if should ever go down that road. Nice to have options!!!

I guess that would be an option. But I have no desire to shoot .40 so it will be extra money for barrel... Might as well pay premium somewhere.

.40 uses same slide I assume

Just an option to consider. Given how hard it is to find a 9 Pro, not sure which model you're after, it's likely you will spend a little more for it than a .40 Pro. I haven't researched barrels but it might work out about the same or slightly higher. I don't know. The collective here will have a better idea. My understanding is, dis-assemble and remove the .40 barrel, install the 9mm barrel, re-assemble, load 9mm mags and you're good to go. Same slide, same spring. For more information do a search on 40 to 9 conversion.....

You can get a Storm Lake conversion barrel to use or I've read people just using factory 9mm barrels. Some have said they have even used the .40 mags for 9mm and has worked. Others said theirs wouldn't.

Looking into this again because I have some money to spend...

I found one for about 800 bucks. I think it's just way too high (even with the hard to find markup) they won't come down either.

Try calling Pro Armament in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. I'm pretty sure they had them in stock when I was there last week.

Saw two this week

One at a show in Norcross, Ga and another at Adventure Outdoors in Marietta, Ga. IIRC both were priced around $600. I bought a lightly used 9 F/S for $409, Not a PRO.

They are slowly filling back orders. I received several 2 Jun that had been backordered about 14 months. Received a call from a distributor Thursday telling me they had more in stock if I needed additional.
