who has a derringer ? show n tell

I think I read somewhere that if you sent that NAA back they will fir a new type cylinder in it with the safety notches. I have it's twin in .22lr and it goes everywhere with me. It is basically a better than nothing contact weapon and for that purpose it serves admirably when I can't carry my 337.

And ruin the collector value! :D

I mentioned it to the NAA rep at the NRA convention a few years back and she offered how/where to ship but I decided to keep it as is. If I need more than 4 out of this one I'm a lost cause anyway.

I kinda want onr for the heck of it. However, there are loads of other guns I still wanna get so, a Derringer is low on the list.

I just bought a Colt Walker replica for no particular reason. I may sell it though. Can't conceal the monster without a cattle buyers coat. :D I'm thinking it will build up my right forearm muscles. A derringer may be my next ridiculous purchase.

I bought a Davis D-32 MANY years ago. The club I belonged to had an FFL and I got it for cost, which was $36.95 at the time, I think. Over the years I've probably but a couple hundred rounds through it.

Dont sell it, just buy a trench coat. :D

This Bond Arms .45 Colt-only barrel set works well for practice with cheap-o .22 LR adaptors, but I usually carry it with the .45 ACP barrel set on board.

Either way (.45 Colt handloads or .45 ACP +P factory ammo), I get about 860 fps with 230-grainers. I have a 255-gr .45 ACP loading that does about 920 fps (not quite up to St. Elmer levels, but getting there) - ouch. :)

You do know Bond doesn't want you to use +P! :D
I would like to have it in .45 only too...
just because it's not made in .44 mag.

When they first started, they did make them in .44 Mag.

A good paper weight, last time wouldn't fire one barrel. Had to send it back right after I got it in the eighty's for a repair, ended up scratching the finish with some kind of tool they were working with.

You know, I knock Cobra from time to time. But in reality I owned this 9mm little ditty for a few months and despite being the most painful gun to shoot, it went bang every time. Got my Dad the .22lr version, same story so maybe they aren't that bad after all..

i dont recall where i saw it but i have seen a 44mag "alaskan survival model" in 44 mag. my 629s kick enough thanks!
i think it would draw blood from either end:eek: but for a last ditch save your life gun? yes, please. but i wouldnt want to practice with it.

In visiting the Bond Arms site, I noticed the new Backup model for 2014. A fistful of .45 ACP makes for a mighty two-shooter. What surprised my was the Backup's weight ... 18-19oz ... the same as the S&W Mountain Lite in .44 Special. It safe to assume this equates with serious recoil, but it looks to be a rather nice, albeit weighty for its size, large caliber package.

American derringer makes an "alaskan survival model" in .44 mag and even .45-70. I've compared both the American and Bond Arms. I believe I like the Bond better? The quality and finish seems to be better and I like the interchangeable barrels and calibers.

Bond Arms makes an excellent Derringer.
