Who Was The Best/Worst Assistant or Deputy?

for a modern deputy, I love Deputy Jo Lupo (Erica Cerra) on EUREKA. She carried a big honkin' long barreled magnum revolver in her holster and was an avid reader of Military Ma'am. I thought that she was very thoughtful to carry a semi-automatic magazine pouch on her holster belt. If her hand-to-hand combat skills failed when subdueing a perp, she could always whip him into submission with her beautiful looong pony tail.

Charlie :)

Which was really a long barrelled Great Western revolver.

True. It was a Great Western playing the role of a Colt on TV, like Ken Curtis was Tommy Dorsey's singer playing the role of a deputy. Stop trying to burst my bubble!

There was one episode where he did a lot of singing, and fighting, with Burt Reynolds' character. Those old B&W episodes were the best!

Best assistant - Dr. Watson played by David Burke and Edward Hardwicke to Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes.

Worst - Jar-Jar Binks in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Best/Worst - Marty Feldman as Igor (It's pronounced "Eye-gor" ) in Young Frankenstein.

BEST:
Sheriff Carter's Android Deputy Andy - Eureka

WORST:
William Shatner's L.C.P.D. ofc Adrian Zmed - TJ Hooker

Sgt Lumpy

The only thing I liked about T.J. Hooker was the female lead. She was hot. Cant say the same for Shatner's idea of a hairdo.

Speaking of G.W. Bailey--another worst comes to mind. Him as the Lt in the Police Academy movies, and the bumbling dope who was his Sergeant. Those movies were so bad they are really good.

Tackleberry......................

Going to have to vote for Jim Reed.
Also throwing a vote for Inspector Frank "Fatso" DiGeorgio - "Why don't you go get some air, Fatso." - And he did, because Harry had some work to do. Now THAT'S a good a good partner!

Best/Worst - Marty Feldman as Igor (It's pronounced "Eye-gor" ) in Young Frankenstein.

"What hump?" :D:D

I'm not a huge Gene Wilder fan (loved his wife), but "Young Frankenstein" has to be treasured if only for the "Puttin' On The Ritz" number. Peter Boyle was terrific.
