Who's got a TRS-25? Or is there something better?

So to those with the Bushnell TRS-25, how do you like it? I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick one up as kind of a versatile little red dot. It's going to probably go on a pistol, and if I like it enough maybe another for a shotgun. I posted here because I figured more people in this sub would have one, and it'll probably spend some time on my 15-22. Being it'll sit mostly on my XD, I'm looking for something small, but still somewhat inexpensive. I was looking at a FastFire 2, but it seems a little too small for when I want to put it on the 15-22 and just a bit more than I want to spend because I just got a Burris 332 for my Sport. It won't see much time on the 15-22 unless I REALLY like it because I have a Strikefire that usually calls it home. So to the guys that have a TRS-25, would you suggest it for a pistol? What are the pros/cons? Other than the flimsy rubber caps breaking. And does anyone have any better options for a pistol? Needs to mount to a rail, as I don't want to remove my rear sight. Also I'm not really wanting something that should go on an airsoft either(Barska, NCStar, UTG, or the like) Thanks in advance everybody.

I originally put the Fastfire II on my Buck Mark, but the danged thing is too small for my eyes & I dislike the power on/intensity button. Initially I thought the TRS-25 would be too big but after I tried it, I love it.

I've got a TRS on a 422. It really works well for a little lightweight pistol. I've also got a Fastfire on an AR as a secondary optic. With either one you will have to user a riser for an AR. As for going back and forth between them, you will also have to rezero every time - not ideal. The TRS is much easier to adjust than the Fastfire.

Ya I don't think if I get a TRS that it'll switch back and forth very much. Actually, thinking about it, I can get two TRS's for the price of a FastFire. Maybe I'll do that. Than I'll end up with three in the long run, but if I like the first one, why change a good thing? I've read a few reviews on Cabelas and Optics Planet of people that had them on shotguns, but does anyone here have first-hand experience of having one on a shotgun? It seems like a great option if it can handle the recoil.

You'll find most everyone has good reports on the TRS.
The Primary Arms is about the same . You wouldn't know the difference when in use. The one difference is that the PA has a removable short base with a screw design like the Aimpoint. Nice clean design for a riser that will be needed for an AR platform.

Yup, they are 3MOA dot. The body/tube on the PA might be a mm smaller but for all practical puposes they're the same.

I recently took my TRS-25 off my 15-22 and mounted it on my Benelli Nova (shotgun) that I have used successfully for many years in the turkey woods. (My eyes aren't getting any younger.) It seems to still be holding zero quite well, so I think the turkeys are still going to be nervous around these parts, come the fall hunting season. I now run a Primary Arms on the 15-22. Pretty much the same sight, except a different mounting capability.

Have run about 1000 rds through my sons M&P 15 Sport since installing the TRS-25. Holds zero and no problems. Also NO problems with the Sport either, outstanding value. No more Sports in this state for the forseeable span of idiocy, would get another in a heartbeat. Have ordered another TRS-25 for my Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. Should be a fast combo to 100 yds.

It's really not a big deal, but here's a side by side where the TRS low mount is attached to the riser mount. The PA attaches directly to the riser with a screw design in the bottom of the scope body.

I have the TRS-25 on my 15-22 and love it. I have mine sighted in at 100 yds. For $70 bucks, you cannot go wrong.

Ya I'm thinking I'm gonna go with the TRS at first. I think it'll be a better option for the pistol and shotgun. And it's a little shorter overall length. I might get the PA next to try it out. I've got a strikefire that works great on the 15-22, but I like variety.

I did search TRS-25, it has been talked about in other threads about other things, but I didn't find a thread specifically on the TRS-25.

Right. I found those, but was wondering about it on a pistol and got great advice here for exactly what I was asking. Just seems when you don't find the answer to your question in any of the other threads so you ask one, someone tells you to use the search. I don't need a riser, and wasn't really interested in the PA until you mentioned it so I wasn't interested in that comparison, so I started a new one. Got great reviews of it on a pistol and shotgun here, so thanks guys.

I put one on my AK, the sights on it were so off I could not zero it in and it shot 5 feet low at 100 yds. I bought a TRS25 and put it on an adaptor that does not modify the gun but just uses the rear sight set up after the rear sight is removed. I zeroed it in with 3 shots at 25yds and then at 100 it was shooting 5 inch groups no problem. Its a lot of bang for the buck and its a lot better than all that 600 for some Aim point that cost more than my gun. I recommend them highly. I also put one on my left handed Stag AR. Works great. I can put 22lrs through my AR at 100 yds on a 10 inch target all day long.
