Why Do Members Conceal Their Locations??

I have been curious why many members conceal what state they live in?? It is always interesting reading about local gun shops, local sales, gun buying experiences, but many members do not put their state location in their profile. I often read about how gun prices are either higher or lower in parts of the country, but have no idea where these people are from in the first place.

I figure it's OK to put in your state and city. I suppose if you're paranoid about somebody finding you it might be a good idea to leave that out. It interests me as well when I see comments from different parts of the country/world.

If I want to talk about my employer I want some kind of plausible deniabilty so I don't say where I'm at and when I call my boss a jerk I can say "That wasn't me that wrote that"
