Do those Duramags fit flush and are they Ten rounders
that only fit Five?

Have Magpul 10 rounders on the way.
They sit proud a bit but were all I could find.
Will work for now as I shoot offhand Smallbore style.

Even drew up a forearm design mod for my 870 SuperMag that lets me keep my hand, in the same position as my BT99, for those Trap loads.
I move the hand forward for 3.5" HV Blasters.
Don't have a SxS or O/U now, but the ROs let me take a second shot to try and break a big piece if it ain't smoked, as sometimes we get to have fun.

I learned to shoot a rifle with my weak hand gripping well down the rifle's stock or FFT at a young age . But seems like a flat bottom 10 or 20 round mags would work well for stand if you using a shooting jacket and can restrict or control movement like seen at the NRA WSC matches .

I consider grasping the front of the mag well to be a short range defensive practice like if your clearing a house . good luck

The Ruger SR22 contraption, came sightless.
Put an old Bushnell 3-9x wide angle on for the kids, and now grandkids.
Removed the very heavy and ugly forearm and hold it with
the left hand under the magwell. Five round rotary mag.
Will give Duramag a call and get specs on their 5 rounder.

Duramag said it sticks out about a half inch or so.
They advised to get the 10 round mag as the 5 round
uses the same body.

Will make some stocks for one of the 6920s.
Not a fan of the newer OEMs.
An A2 variation in wood will be nice.

I don't think you can get a rear peep sight back far enough on the handguard rail like you can on a railed AR receiver. For me if the peep sight isn't close enough to my eye to 'ghost' out, it's useless I put a reflex sight on mine and may mount one of my flip up front sights as a backup. I've found on rifles that have good consistent cheekwelds a front sight only will get you on target in a pinch.

Like many others I already had a spare optic so any flip ups S&W might have provided would have gotten pulled. A short rear picatinny rail molded into the receiver for a rear flip up would have been nice. But as I get older I find my eyes are having a harder time with irons so more and more of my long guns have optics.

The ghost ring leaf on the Magpul BUIS is plenty big to see through on the FPC with it mounted on the rail behind my Holosun. I didn't want to have to deal with the hassle of flipping down the small aperture whenever I wanted to use the irons so I just drilled it out the same diameter as the ghost ring aperture. Works great.

As others have said, most of the buyers for this will swap out whatever sight it comes. That's simply the market today.

Also note, virtually no bolt action hunting rifle comes with sights anymore and hasn't for decades.

Yes, it makes sense for them to to charge customers for something they're not going to use anyway.

I'm glad that S&W didn't ship with sights - one less thing to throw in a drawer. It would most likely have been cheap, and wouldn't have fit w/ my setup.
I was able to do some research on many available options and purchase exactly what I wanted.

And BTW, the ghost ring works great (the pic did have the correct orientation before the forum upload. :-/)

I put Magpul MBUS flip-up sights on mine along with a Holosun HS503. I only paid $549 for my FPC. Why pay extra on top of that to have some junk sights from the factory when I can install what I want for 80 bucks? The MBUS sights are visible through the bottom third of the optic, and the larger aperture works fine in spite of the distance from it to the eye. I think I will drill out the smaller one since I have no use for a small aperture, and it would save an extra step when deploying the flip-up BUIS.

You are just talking MBUS when saying $80 right? Because if not I need your connects on a Holosun HS503 and MBUS sights all for $80 lol

Good iron sights, ghost ring and rugged steel front, both on the barrel, are free with the Ruger. No need to have to spend extra money to make the gun useable after you buy it

Sorry to be an old "Fuddy Duddy," but I like iron sights on everything including hunting rifles.

Hi-point carbines come with adjustable sights front and rear and peep on the rear. Also comes with scope mount if you chose to use it.
