Years ago I was at a gas station, a guy was filling his tank the nozzle on automatic in the filler, it clicked off when full. The guy went to the window paid his bill, then got into his car and started driving off whitout replacing the nozzle. The hose got tight and part of the nozzle broke off in the car's fill inlet, when the hose sprung back it made a racket and the driver stopped. The attendants ran out and a ruckus broke out. A bit of gas, I guess what was in the trigger mechanism, flew out but no fire.
It was a two pump station and looked like they were going to be "tied up" for a while so I went elsewhere to fill up.
