At Walmart today and found a Blackhawk #25 OWB plastic molded holster. It was made for both the M&P and Sigma 9/40 models and wondering if it will work also for SDVE models.

I'm having troubles with the aftermarket, better grip, take-down plate, grabbing the current holster's inside material, as I try to draw out gun. Not very effective if gun is needed quickly.

Walmart also carried Blackhawk holsters for the Glock 17/19/23/etc model plastic molded holsters if this would be a better fit for the SD9VE model I have.

TIA

I purchased a #25 just a few days ago. Fits perfectly !!! I need the belt adapter, even though I can make the paddle work OUTSIDE the belt/pants. It's slick, doesn't rattle and frighteningly fast. I had one for a 1911 I once owned and like it a lot. BLACKHAWK does STATE that you must use an UNMODIFIED pistol. I had to remove some skateboard tape from the bottom of the trigger guard for the pistol to fit properly. The paddle doesn't work well for me in it's usual form. Takes an act of Congress to get on & off. The actual holster is excellent. Remember to keep that trigger finger in REGISTER position until the pistol is pointing at the target, you'll have no problems w/ the Blackhawk !!!

I have a #25 Blackhawk Sherpa for my SD40. It works great. I use it for working on the farm. It was the model that fits the M&P. It holds my pistol securely while working and riding ATVs around the property.

Been a few days since last post about fitment and finally got to Walmart to get that Blackhawk holster.

Thought I missed out, but found it amongst all the Glock model holsters. The only S&W holster on display, out of what looked to be 20 boxed items for Glock. My lucky day.

Got home and put together. I use a cross-draw procedure and gun fits very lightly snug, gives no rattles and easily draws from holster.

I'm very pleased.

Triumph, I have found working w/ the Blackhawk holsters that TRIGGER FINGER placement is of utmost importance. One must keep the finger straight WHILE pressing firmly on the release. If the second part of this draw stroke is done weakly, your pistol MAY NOT release and this can cause issues. Maybe not with the SD series, but it COULD happen. I must remind myself to press firmly WHILE removing the pistol. When this is done, the pistol comes out EXTREMELY FAST !!! In an emergency, this is important. Glad you got the paddle to work for you, it's never worked for me. Still a GREAT holster. Fobus also makes a "Serpa-like" holster and I thought about trying it for a "driving holster" like you've done w/ your Serpa !! These are wonderful holsters IF you take the time to learn them AND practice constantly !!!

I am looking for a holster for my full size Sigma 40, are the Sigma and the M&P virtually the same dimensions such that a M&P holster will work well for the Sigma?

Not really. A really sloppy fit holster might sorta fit both. A Fobus for an HK fits an SW pretty well.

I simply do not buy holsters at Wal-Mart.

I use 3 different holsters, depending on the situation
-On Your 6 IWB
-Alien Gear Cloak Tuck
-Alien Gear OWB

I couldn't recommend anything else.
Oh, wait, I almost forgot. I do have an Uncle Mikes around here somewhere. ***.

Saw this thread and found the Blackhawk #25 at Walmart while getting my cheap Federal aluminum range ammo. So I bought it. Fits my Sd9ve perfectly. I honestly don't have a need for OWB holster, but I grabbed it anyway. I have it if I ever need it in the future.

Like the Serpa. Have one with the paddle and the belt. Also got one for inside the center console mounted it with heavy duty velcro.
