Worn Blueing and field use

for backpacking i keep a large perscription pill bottle a quarter full of oil and i cut about a 6 inch square of rag put it in the bottle let it soak up then fill qarter full again the seal on a pill bottle will hold up better then any ziplock and can take a little more abuse in the field trust me nothing worse then getting to where you want to be and go to pull gear out and its covered in gun oil

but make sure its a seal pill bottle and also fill it with water and flip it over in sink for a few hours to make sure seal is good on it and i do quite a few back pack adventures every year with one or two of my guns last one was a 10 day hike and they take some abuse but keep them wiped down and after trip tear down and clean never had rust hurt mine

I also add militec1 to my cleaning and lubrication after each range use of my guns.It is a dry lube that supposedly bonds to the metal on a molecular level.I can only tell you the stuff works. When my pistol accidently got wet the water immeadiately beads.A few wipes with a towel and you are good to go.They also give free trial samples if you request one. MILITEC-1 - The ONLY all-purpose synthetic metal conditioner and gun oil God Bless......Mike

+1 on the Militec-1. Great product! I use it on all of my carry guns. My old Springer 1911 and other semis get their rails lightly greased with Militec-1 grease. All of them run like champs. When it comes time for storage I wax em down with Mcguires. Been using it for years with no damage to the blued finishes.
