XDs .45, if you got one tell me about it

Ive got quite a few XDs and XDMs and they have never failed to work. I actually started shooting idpa with an ordinary xd 9mm (couldnt even guess the round count) and did very well (always placed ). But i needed a little more speed so i ended up moveing to glock 36 3rd gen. Ive got a xdm 4.5 set up for idpa but never warmed up to it.

I carry an XDm-45 and love it. I was a Glock fanboy, still am. But the XDm series fits my hands better, and is just wonderful to shoot. I prefer the ergonomics of the Springfields. First time I handled the Springers, I fell in love with them.

Picked up an XDs as a backup a few weeks ago, and I like it just as much as the full size gun. You will be amazed at how well it handles recoil. I have the 7-round mags, but prefer to carry with the 5-rounder in the gun, with the larger cap mags on my belt. Brilliant gun designs.

I had an XD for quite a while, it was my nightstand gun along with the TLR1 flashlight hanging from it. Very dependable gun, always shot where it was pointed (a good thing to have happen!) and I had complete confidence in it. Traded it off for a Smith 5" 27 (I threw in some cash too). Like all the plastic guns I've had, there is no emotional attachment for me.

What about plasticity augmented females?:D

In New Orleans the XD-s .45 are sub $550....

I almost bought one today...

Anyone tried the 7+1 aftermarket magazine?

An xds is now cc outside of work. Only problem ever encountered was with 230 plus p loads, and the bottom of the mag floor plate sticking out. Lot of "lift" with the heavier load, and relieved the projecting bottom lip of mag floorplate to below the front strap line.

Tried the 7 rounder, but not comfortable with that much mag projecting below the grip, with the heavier loads.

Very accurate pistol for it's size, and easy to conceal in hybird holster.

I am reconsidering my stand point on the XD-s because:

Its really small without the extended mag.
I need all my digits on my pistol.

.45 A.C.P. is grossly expensive as the world crashes.

I am facing more assailants than you may be believe
even as a civilian.
Criminals work n groups of 3 or 4 these days.

I may just use the HK P2000 .40 LEM 24/7... 12+1!

If you're actually face multiple assailants, then you:

a) Best be a darn good shot with your firearm of choice.
b) Would be better off toting a Remington 870 or M-4.
c) Should find religion quickly and starting praying before spraying.
d) All of the above.

I agree with you mc5aw.

Lately in New Orleans it has been a 2-4 man armed robbery scheme. Gentleman's Clubs, entrances to private driveways, and home invasion:

I cannot bring a rifle with me on the streets walking to work from my car.
