Yeti

I just (not long ago) attended a church sponsored hunters banquet. Yeti donated a ton of coolers and insulated cups as drawing prizes. I won a cup, the lid leaks like a McDonalds cup. I didn't even want one of their coolers, I'm sure the coolers work well, they had better because they weighed as much as my refrigerator.

Wally World sells Ozark Trail Coolers which appear to be a clone of Yeti

I glanced at one but have no way to compare. They look pretty darn heavy duty. I would guess they cost less?
$137 for a 30+ lb. empty less than 2 cu. ft. cooler?
Not much of a bargain unless truly needed.
I'm looking to try lining my Igloo Marine coolers with reflective car windshield screens to see if it at all improves the already plenty good enough chill retention.

Tap-dancing on the NRA is the Flavor of the Month lately. MHO? Yeti and the rest, (not all), of the boycott crowd will quietly rejoin the fold down the road. We vote and have money, high school kids don't, at least not yet. That said, if the mid-term elections go badly, all bets are off.

I have some 30 oz Yeti steel cups and they are definitely over-rated and over-priced. Youtube has many test reviews comparing them to other brands and many inexpensive products equal or beat them for a fraction of the money. I look back now and think "why exactly did I spend 75 bucks on two coffee cups"?

The only Yeti product I have is a 20 ounce tumbler that was given to me as a Christmas present 4-5 years ago, which my wife promptly claimed. She says it does a good job keeping water cold during the night when she is sleeping. Last December I stopped at a Buc-ees gas station around Dallas on the way home and bought my wife a Rtic brand 20 oz tumbler and it is at least as well insulated as the Yeti but it also has a much better top design that is spill proof. And it is priced a lot more reasonably than the Yeti too.

As for Yeti jumping on the anti-NRA bandwagon, well that is their choice. And it is my choice not to spend a dime on their products too. And there are alternatives on the market just as good or better than their products and at a better price point besides.

I received a Yeti 20 ounce cup last November for my Birthday, I absolutely love it although I have never had something similar before to compare it to.

Overpriced for sure, but still a high quality product.

I bought a Yeti some years ago before all the secondary Yetis were on the market. I've had a number of cheaper coolers with less insulation over the last forty + years and ice in the Yeti will last a good bit longer on extended trips than it will in other coolers.

I don't quite understand all the Yeti detractors. These are good coolers that have one drawback: they're heavy. Today, there are many choices for the experts in the way of well-insulated coolers and it's good to know they won't get shaken down if they buy one.

I would have never bought anything Yeti before, now I definitely won’t. Waaaaayyyyyy overpriced for any of my needs.

A $500 a pop yuppie cooler company doesn't like an organization I've been a member of since before the term "yuppie" was coined?

Strangely enough, I'm OK with that.

On another gun forum there are guys covering their Yeti cooler labels with NRA window stickers. And the RTIC website suddenly features a large copy of the second amendment, without comment.

I don't see it on their website, but it is on their Facebook page.

I wonder if they will stop their support of NWTF, Quail, Ducks and Pheasant UnLimited?

The one I have came from a NWTF Banquet a couple of years ago.
