Your Beverage For Ushering In The New Year

Espresso, maybe with foamed milk if I'm feeling wild and crazy.

2013 is going to be a good year for situational awareness. I'm not about to drink or even sip anything that will make me feel more comfortable than I ought to.

Speaking of sip...

Sip? Sip? You there? You gonna celebrate?

A 5th of vodka and V 8 splash--home alone, planning my strategy for Tuesdays deer hunt. There is a biggen behind my house have see him 2 times. If i don't get him he has given me a hunt, the butterflies in the stomach kind. That's what it's all about, had I already harvested him,I'd probally sleep in..lol

Just like any other day of the year...Three fingers of Jack Daniels on two cubes..Just sip...sip....sip...
Happy and prosporus new year to all....

I was never much of a drinker of alcohol, too many people in my family who should have been going to 12 step meetings but didn't so I stayed away from it. For me a glass of ice tea if I am even awake for it. Recovery right now has me pretty much out by 10pm. Last night I was irritated because I fell asleep halfway through Red River. The night before I just made it to 10:30 before it was lights out. I have a feeling my eyelids will drop before the ball does.

Hemlock for the politicians (the gun-banners).

Blanton's single barrel bourbon for me.

Some 12 gauge 3-inch BBB's for the geese in the field across the street from the lodge.

Heineken beer tonight. About five or six with some munchies and then a nice cigar.
I won't miss 2012. Hope next years better.
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year.

A few sips from my bottle of LAGAVULIN, aged for 16 years in the cask. Absolutely the very best single malt scotch whiskey on the planet. Too bad it has gotten too expensive to drink more that a few sips! Also it is too bad that really fine Cubanos are no longer available to go with it!

I've only consumed plain water as a beverage for over 35 years, nothing else period, to consume other flavored beverages is one of the biggest causes of premature death in the world....seriously, did any of you believe that for even a moment???

I will be sipping a nice tumbler of Wild Turkey, nothing fancy, but quite effective. ;)

Good " over the cliff " drink IMHO.

The last beer i had was in 1967...
The last scotch I had was in 1971...
In the last few years most whiskeys and bourbon seems to have to much of a corn and grain taste.

Rum seems to be about right and I do like brandy of a few types.

I have two drinks worth of Bombay Sapphire left. Picked up a bottle of local Bourbon tonight to try. It is barreled in bourbon barrels that originally held a three year bourbon, then a three month beer to age in barrels, then the bourbon is put back in to absorb some of the beer characteristics. Thought it might be interesting to try.

You know what the funny thing is!?

You've been "brain washed" thinking that bottle you got from a ABC store is top shelf!
With all the fancy names, bottles, and labels... and $40 a fifth or more price tag!

The fifth of Rum in front of me is "priceless"! Didn't cost one red cent!
The true "price" was friendship.. and has no dollar amount!

With that in mind... I wish you the very best this next NEW YEAR!!!!
