Your favorite gun-- you never EDC?

Smith 3" 686+ It carries and conceals surprisingly easy in a pancake. I've worn it 16 hours a day: no problem. But it requires a cover garment, which I often don't wear. Still gets a lot of action on weekends. EDC would be the Shield.

My M&P9 Full Size w/ Crimson Trace Laserguard.

Not to brag, but when I shoot, the veterans stop to observe and shower me with compliments that make me blush...I shoot 1 handed, while moving in the tiny stall at the range, hip fire, etc....I usually don't do traditional 2 handed shooting anymore with the fullsize because it gets repetitive/boring putting mags after mags onto a 3" target at 7-10 yards.

Lol. I hear this all the time at the "New Shooter" briefings.....and then the buzzer goes off and the excuses start pouring out. I have actually had to take rifles, pistols and shotguns out of the shaking hands of mall ninjas at the line.

Move those targets out a little further there champ and try moving.

My favorite gun that I don't carry is my VP9. I shoot this gun better than any other that I own but it's just too big to conceal on my rather generous middle. As Florida's climate never gets cold enough for heavy clothes I can't even carry it seasonally.

I had the VP 9 and shot it the best. But I sold it for the same reason. It was too big to carry. I also have the 9/45 Shield to carry.

My favorite non-carry is the 3" Ruger SP-101 .357 magnum

My 1993 Sig P226 W. German or my BHP. Love 'em both. Shoot 'em both really well. Have nice holsters for 'em both. Neither has ever jammed, except when I load empty brass backwards in the magazine for malfunction training. However, based on available time, the way I dress, places I go and company I keep, it just never works out. A Glock 26 or J/K frame Smith inevitably winds up on my waist.
Were mayhem to somehow break out in the streets, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria... you can bet one of those two would be by my side to ride it out.

Most of the firearms described above are almost all more than 30ozs fully loaded. While nearly everyone admits to dropping down in weight...and often caliber/capacity.

Well ya, I live in the "Burbs of the Burgh" which includes Mt. Lebanon not Beirut Lebanon.........if we lived in the middle of the SHTF ......... I'd be more likely to carry my Beretta 92 Centurion and my CX4 combo..........with a couple of extra 20/30 rd mags.

My favorite "would be EDC" is my CZ P-01. Love that gun. It will get some use this winter. Just a bit too big for summer carry in Charlotte, NC. I also love the Model 19 and 3" K Frames. Again, they come out in the winter.

Summer carry here is a S&W J Frame or Colt D Frame or Glock 43.

** Good thread topic OP

Have to go with my 9mm Range Officer, great gun, not gonna replace my 9c for edc duty with it though.

My M&P9 Full Size w/ Crimson Trace Laserguard.

I have carried it but it is now strictly a home/range firearm. It's my favorite pistol to date. An amazing and accurate pistol that's ridiculously easy to shoot. I mainly use it to shoot 15-20 yards 3" targets.

My carry is a M&P9C w/ CT which shares some similar characteristics to the full size such as trigger weight and break point. Grip is slightly different but a fairly easy transition between the 2. Muzzle flip and recoil is similar with the advantage given to the Full Size.

Only reason I don't carry the Full Size because the length digs into me when sitting down making it incredibly uncomfortable.
I too have a M&P 9 PC that the above statement about the shooting range is the same for me. I recently went to a gravel pit with my son and another friend shooting various guns. My son and friend watched me chase a empty 12 gauge shell around for about a dozen straight shots. Now that was fun!
I'm working on finding the right shoulder holster for winter months carry!!

OP,

I think you're asking about my Para Ordnance frame with Colt Series 80 slide and Bar-Sto barrel. Have plenty of mags, and it works fine, but my Series 80 Stainless Government Model works just as well and is slightly slimmer. And it's stainless. If the SHTF, I would probably go for the P/O, and I have plenty of mags and proper leather therefor, but my SS Gov't and my BHP seem adequate for just about the worst I can imagine right now.

I will admit that my Glock 19 is my go to pistol. It doesn't do anything great but does everything good. My favorite carry piece is my model 36 3" nickel plated Chief's Special. It is faster to draw and fire than the Glock and getting off the first shot is a big advantage in a gun fight.

My Grandfather's old SW Combat Masterpiece is my favorite gun. It is an awesome piece of family history that I sometimes shoot but will never part with and lots of reasons not to carry. I carry my USPc.
