I would to think it but i am sure it's not the case that my 686 is the most accurate revolver period.I know there are many 686s out there.the first time I shot it I hit all 6 rounds on target. The first time all of my friends have fired it,5 if not the6 out of 6 hits. The S&W 686 357 magnum is definitely my most accurate revolver.6 out of 6 always.Just can't miss with it.gunnut2

I've never found innacurate Smith&Wesson wheelgun. I myself mostly compete in bullseye matches with 6" 686 with no tuning, just out of the box.
I love to look at the guys who come at the range with their hammerli and walther .32 WC bullseye match race guns, and then find themselves behind me. I don't even bother reloading, shoot regular FMJ 158 grains and still score enough to get at least third place every time. I love my 686. Smith&Wesson rules!
cheers!

alrihgt, another 686er.You never know"the 686er club".Everyone one would be equal.gunnut2

Well my 686 is good, but my 629 with target reloads is Better!

Don't own a 686

yet

My 629 rules at the moment. Shoots jagged holes at 25 yrds with any 240 250 gr factory ammo. My friends normally drill the target first shot. Then they struggle a little and appear to be shooting at gophers.

I would love to think my PC 460 or 500 would be the most accurite but I have years of trigger time on the 629 and for the moment it rules.

My Model 19-3 is accurate but my most accurate is my Ruger GP100. I was at the range awhile back and shot .38sp FMJ at a five inch bullseye target 10 yds away. I concentrated on all aspects: ie. breath control, stance, sight picture, etc. I shot 6 rnds at a slow pace which was just long enough to regain the exact same sight picture. When all six were complete, I retrieved my target and low and behold; There were two holes touching each other in the ten ring. I had put five rounds through one hole and one shot right beside them .
I was impressed! I love all three of my S&W's but I will never get rid of my GP100.

I too, Out of the guns I shoot, My 25-2 with the slightly bulged 6 1/2" barrel makes me look the best out of all i have, Which includes 686/629/14/15 ect, But wow to the old 25-2
OH, My 1952 K22 is also right there with it!

Shot some groups with my 25-2 last week. At a range of about 20 yards, I had a 12 shot group that was all in one hole. If I could actually see the sights clearly, the hole would have probably have been smaller.

Got to be my PPC Model 10. Target behind shows what it can do at 25 yards. Eighteen rounds passed through that hole. I love this gun, but she is darn heavy.

No offense to Polar Boy and all the others who do this... but I laugh whenever someone puts up a picture of their target and give out the details of their shoot. I'm sure more than half of them say X yards.. but really it was X feet.

I mean... this is internet land. Home of ninjas and secret agents... and expert marksmen.

Too many choices.

8 3/8" Model 14 shooting 148 gr Wad cutter over 2.7gr Bullseye.

Also very accurate with same load:
6" Model 19
7" Model 686

8 3/8" Model 27 shooting 125gr JHP over 8.4gr Unique. Just over 2" group from sandbag at 50yds.

10 1/2" .44 Mag Super Blackhawk

Scoped 9 1/2" .454 Casull Super RedHawk

.460 S&W Magnum.

6 1/2" 629

And one of my favorites: 6" Model 17

I belive this triplelock to be my most accuarate. It was sent to the company in 1949 and target sights added. Also has a very finely checked trigger. Actualy it was sent back twice. Once in 1949 and again in 1950. I have a letter. It was sent to the American Tradeing Co. in New York Oct 6th 1910. I havent shot it in many years, but once I spent a day compareing it off the bench with I think 3 other .44 specials and a model 29-2 and it outshot them all! One of the specials was a 1950 target.
