I have some Ray Ban sunglasses and the tiny screw that holds the lens in, is stripped out a bit and the lens falls out. I was thinking about wrapping some plumbers tape or something similar around the threads to get it to tighten up and hold the lens in place. Any thoughts on how to tighten up that screw?

Ray-Ban is owned by Luxottica. I would go to a Luxottica shop and ask for their help. Where's a Luxottica shop? Target Optical, Lens Crafters, Sunglasses Hut, Pearl Vision to name a few.

Failing that, I'd try some blue Loctite.

Put fingernail polish on the screw threads and snug it in.

I was thinking a tiny tiny glob of ABS or PVC plumbing cement.

Every Walmart has an optical department, with eyeglass repair, but I don't think they can come up with anything the S&W Brain Trust can't and we are free to members!

Oversized screw works, but maybe it's just time to get another pair unless they're the vintage Bausch & Lomb (look for a tiny B&L in the corner of the lens.) Hold on to them if they do.

Use the item which is designed to keep screws in place - LOCTITE, the Threadlocker! There are several strengths so get the one you think will solve your problem the best.

If you use Krazy Glu, make sure it's dry before you put your glasses on. Yeah, I did it, but at least it wasn't on my Ray Bans. My last pair of script Ray Ban sunglasses got stolen out of my car. I wish I could've seen the accident when dude put on the shades.

I am outside a lot and I won't wear cheap sunglasses. I had a pair of 10 year old Ray-Bans that had an issue and I sent them back to their customer service center and they sent them back good as new at no cost other than shipping to get them there.

I recommend reaching out to them on the customer support portal.
