M&P 15-22 Results, Post 'em here. I got Mine!!

I agree with you. I've been very pleased with S&W's recent product releases, and especially this rifle. That kind of attention to customer requirements, price points, and their stellar customer service all help to keep me in their camp. Umarex kept providing good service to the folks who bought the Colt M4-22, but the myriad of product issues was of great concern. Also, how long would Umarex keep up this level of service? I didn't want to gamble with that. With S&W, it's been second nature to them. They have set the industry standard of what customer service should be, IMHO.

I probably would have wound up with the Colt, but they only had the carbine model in stock locally, and I preferred the Ops model. It wasn't my 1st choice, but thought I could be satisfied with it. Lucky for me, I waited one more day and they got the 22-15 in. From reviews I had read and my own preferences, I had it as my first choice, the Sig 522 next, then the Colt. The main thing that turned me off about the Colt was the non-functional stuff they put on it, just to make it look like big brother. That seemed like a waste of material to me. I think I'll get more bang for the buck with the 15-22. If I decide to get another 223, I'm sure the M&P will start off at the top of that wish list also.

Received my two mags today! Very nice quality.

Now for the gun.......

I usually don't purchase a new firearm unless the manufacture offers a lifetime warranty.

Which most do.......

High-point, Ruger, S&W, and there are a few more.

Not sure why someone would say that most firearm companies don't offer lifetime warranties because there are a lot that do.

Firearms should last a lifetime if properly maintained, so why not offer a lifetime warranty on the best quality of products?

It sure sells the firearms to me and others even though I already know that the product I am receiving is top notch!

The 4th M&P15-22 was auctioned off last night on GunBroker.com...$490.

So, the first 4 of these rifles went for $475, $490, $505 and now $490. Just shows how hot this item is.

I listened to the S&W conference call last night after the company reported Grand Slam Homerun 1st Quarter results...record sales, profits, backorders etc.

The S&W executive stated this .22 version of the M&P15 is their hottest new product in years and he stated their TV advertising has not even started!

The M&P15 line experienced a sales increase of 337%...HOT,HOT,HOT!

Better news is they have increased barrel production in their Thompson Center facility to capture additional M&P15 sales.

I believe that is correct. Although I don't have it with me right now, I believe the S&W manual only states 1 year, but they have been notorious for standing behind their products for the life of them. Not too many firearms vendors do that. Technically, Umarex isn't even Colt, and yet a third party, Walther, was the manufacturer of the Colt .22 cal. AR clones. After a while, all of that gets rather convoluted. With the S&W M&P15-22, it's all quite straight-forward, AND made in America.

Yes, you are correct. The booklet with my S&W M&P 15-22 states a one year limited warranty. The paperwork and receipt I got from Gander Mountain says lifetime warranty. So I guess I would have to take it to Gander Mountain after the first year for repairs.

I've had mine for two weeks now and really enjoy shooting it. Love that it only cost three cents a round to shoot and its so much fun to shoot. I can't wait to get my extra magazines from S & W; it really stinks only having one magazine right now. I've added a Primary Arms M4 Red Dot and a Hogue Grip.

I sure miss mine, and wish it wasnt messed up, wont get mine back from S&W for weeks now :c. Ordered an extra clip for it tonight though. :-)

Nice pictures of a fine looking rig. Mine has been going with me to the range for the last 3 or 4 trips because it is so much fun to shoot. I got my magazines today that I ordered on the 1st of Sept. Now I can load all three mags up before I leave the house and be ready when I get to the range. However, it doesn't take long to put 75 rounds down range.

How long have you had the Primary Arms M4? I want one but have not heard and long term reviews.

Thanks

I bought mine Tuesday. I cleaned it this morning and took it out to the range this afternoon.
I shot 100 rounds of CCI MiniMags - gun was 100 percent.
Accuracy at 50 yards is outstanding. Cleanup took a bit of time, but 22 ammo isn't exactly clean burning.
Unlike some of the 22s out there, nothing about this gun feels like a toy. Glad I spent $435. :):):)

Congrats. Where did you buy? That's a good price; the lowest I've seen is $449 from Academy. A lot of people seem to have had success with the CCI. That's a good thing, 'cause I've got a brick waiting to be expended. Your're right about the "feel". I'm sure you will continue to enjoy it.

did ya'll get an email when you ordered your extra Mags? i ordered one tonite, but didnt get a email yet. Printed the confirmation page with the order #, but havent got a email. Thanks.

You'll eventually get them, but don't expect updates like some places. I ordered some online on Aug 20th, got an email confirmation back in about 30 minutes. I called their 1-800 number a week later (Aug 27th) because I hadn't heard anything. I was told they just got some in and were shipping them that night. I've been spoiled by the service at CTD and Cabella's. I called S-W again on Tuesday (8 Sep) and was told that my order was shipped on Thursday of last week. I finally got them yesterday. When I called them Tuesday, I asked the customer service person if they normally sent tracking numbers when they were shipped (they use fedex). He said "not that I know of". So, all I ever received from them was the order confirmation. No notice that they were back ordered, no tracking number when they shipped, etc. They'll just show up and make your day. You may even have your 15-22 back by then. Behind every dark cloud.....

Mag capacity - 25 or a few less?

One of the first things I wanted to determine when I bought my .223 was whether all the mags I had bought (4 different brands) were worth keeping. Mostly, they worked fine, but I had a couple that didn't like to be filled to the max. If I put 30 rds in, they wouldn't feed the first round. If I removed the first round or two and re-inserted the mag, everything was fine. I got into a habit of putting 2 rds shy of the max, and I haven't had any trouble since. I've never had a problem with anything but the first round in a full magazine.

So, my question is: Do you always fill the M&P15-22 mags with 25 rounds, or do you put a couple less? Have you ever had a problem with a full mag, and if so, what's the magic number? Thanks in advance...

I ordered 3 online and I got a confirmation email.

Ordered on 9/1, got shipping confirmation email on 9/4 shipped via FedEx with tracking #, and received them today on 9/10.

Wow, amazing that they send you a tracking #, and the customer service guy told me on 9/8 they don't do that (that he was aware of). I'm not doubting you, hopefully it means they are improving their service a little. It needed a lot of improvement. I understand that online sales is not their big thing, but they need to improve or let somebody else run that part of the business. Maybe, since you had a different experience with them, they already figured that out. Glad they treated you right.

Load'm to the max. All three of my magazines work flawlessly loaded to full capacity.
