M&P 15-22 Results, Post 'em here. I got Mine!!

Good shooting! I spoke to my brother-in-law last night and he told me he has shot 5 pesky grey squirrels this past week with his new M&P15-22.

He's got about 1,500 rounds through it and the rifle seems "smoother" these past 500 rounds. Now his neighbor wants one but can't find one!

The 15-22 has proved to be a very good nuisance critter getter.
One would think I would start running out of skunks pretty soon. No.9 is the first one I haven't terminated this year.
I've shot 4 with my S&W 3000 12ga riot shotgun and 3 with my Browning Buckmark Sporter rifle.
I will probably have to start on these guys and the opossums next.

Accidently purchased a bulk pack of 550 Remington today thinking they were the Federals, the box is very similar, has anyone here tried the Remington’s? Hope I did not buy a box of trouble.

Thanks

I know it has been asked before, but I have not seen an answer yet. Has anyone figured out how to the the handguard off yet. This is the only design flaw I have noticed. I know sooner or later I will get enough dirt in there that it will need to be cleaned.

tracking shows S&W got mine today, but i called them, and talked to some guy, and he told me it would take like a month to get it back...Ive a week to 10 days from 2 people before. Hearing a month sure didnt make me any happier.

They for sure are selling like hotcakes!!!, and it looks like everybody is having better luck than i did..dont know when i'll get mine back, ive been told 5-10 turnaround, a month..i dunno anymore.

I just looked on gunbroker aswell, and see they had the 1 15-22 for sale, 3 bids at 455 now. and they where 2 seperat auctions for magazines for the 15-22, starting at 25 bucks!!, Be cheaper from S&W Directly.

For what it is worth, every interaction I have ever had with S&W for a quality or service issue (which has been seldom), has always been handled promptly. For this reason I never think twice about selecting a product from S&W -- best-in-class service policies.

Looked what arrived today, my new mag i ordered from S&W, I remember correctly..this new mag, seems alot tighter, snugger i suppose than the mag that came with the gun which seemed looser if i remember right, the yellow thing had some slack in it i believe, the new one is very snug and tight. Maybe that was the issue, i dunno.

Just bought a brick of Widcats to tryout. I shot the first mag, no problem. I loaded back up and left the wife shoot, bang, bang, KABOOM, sounded like double charge. Wife was ok other than being a bit P*@#ssed off. No damage to the gun. The fire case rim swelled and split open. Loaded up shot 2 more mags, gun works fine. I don't believe this is why they call'em Widcats.
Went home got Winchester online, I just found out they have a recall on certain lot numbers of Wildcats. Reason for recall__Double charge. I checked and my ammo was Not on the recall lot. I will be calling Winchester tomorrow to share with them our experience.
This is why you must be careful. Wife and I had a LUCKY day.

Just wondering if the round was all of the way in the barrel when the firing pin hit the rim? If the bolt is partially open the round will actually push back toward the bolt and split the casing of the round because it's not all of the way in the barrel where it should be.

I've seen this happen on one of the Colt .22's recently, and wondered if your S&W did the same thing? I would just for safety sake check and make sure there is nothing binding the bolt action making it stick slightly before going all of the way home.

I don't know this for sure. But I would think the case split for a reason? Honestly it shouldn't have if the round was all of the way home and the bolt completely closed. I'm asking because if this is the case? I wouldn't want to see anyone get hurt.
