M&P15-22 Compliant Version

From what I understand, in Kalifornia 22's are not limited, the 10 round limitation only applies to centerfire rifles. I'm pretty sure the other centerfire limits don't apply to the 22 either. Stock, foregrip, flash supp. muzzle break, Etc. You need to do your own research and come to your own conclusions of course. Let us know what you find out.
 
but is the 10 round mag the same length or shorter
i am just interested in one if it is shorter for bench shooting
anybody knows or have some pics?

Any one actually have pics of a california legal 10 rd mag? I just purchased one and have not picked it up yet waiting the 10 day wait still but i went in and looked at it and it had a long mag the same size as a 25rd mag but the follower was blue not red.
 
Man, if that's the case and they aren't shorter I won't be getting any "bench" mags. Hopefully this was done to get legal 10 rounders out to victims of certain legislatures sooner and actual short mags will come later, either from Smith or an aftermarket maker. I still want a threaded barrel from them.
 
I think some of the 15-22 standard rifles are being modified and being sold in the regulated states. Like the 25 round magazine is being modified to only allow 10 or 20 rounds. Same with the adjustable stock, it is being pinned to comply with state regs. IOW, the complient 15-22's haven't hit the street yet but distributors are getting on the wagon and modding these rifles to reap the benifits of hot sales.

That's my best guess... I think by mid to late January the complient model will be available along with shorter 10 round mags.
 
There is a plug being sold on ebay to make the standard 25 round hold only 10 rounds. It doesn't address the length of the mag for bench shooting. How about cutting a hole in the bench for the mags to fit into? The AR platform is growing in poularity, maybe the ranges will cater to the black rifle a little bit.
 
what the heck is the deal with s&w and the 10rd mags, i called last month or so, and asked and they told me December...maybe they meant December of 2010.

I don't know? I've been waiting since Sept for 10 round mags to be released!

I asked 44Mag.com last week if they were going to stock 10 round mags and their answer was no. :(

They did say they were expecting 25 round mags in this week :)

Have you ever waited for a Ruger product to actually hit the market after their announcement? Months!
 
I got my Massachusetts compliant M&P 15 .22 on Dec 22. I got it at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sport Center. Great price also, $359.00.
 
I AM FROM MA. AND JUST PICKED UP MY 15-22 IT HAS A 10RD. MAG.AND THE STOCK IS PIN

Is the mag a full size mag, lock at 10 rounds, or the actual (short) 10 rounds one?

Congrats on your new rifles, btw. :D
