M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

I live in the Netherlands, here the barrel must be at least 30 cm (11.8 inch) but as far as it stays larger then that u can shorten it as u like.

As far as i have heard there is no disadvantage ( its all for the looks ;-) )

Sorry for my bad english !

yknow it is already pretty unique--shortening the barrel would definately add to that...I say go for it! Love to see it when its done!

very cool! I like the strategic painted pieces...i also had trouble getting the FDE Magpul to match my paint perfectly

thanks man, it twice as long to mask everything off than to paint it lol. Ya the rail covers are slightly darker...i contemplated painting them too but since they're flexible i thought the paint might flake off haha.

I had mine cut to 6", I can't still hit 3" spinner targets off hand at 50all yard with a red dot, with no problem

Be very sure you want it shortened, as you are stuck if you don't like it. Also, you will likely loose some bullet volicity. Personally, I would leave it as is.

Out of the box stock except for a cheap carry handle and fore grip I bought through Amazon.com

Here's my M&P 15-22 fresh out of the paint shop. Still undecided whether or not to paint the main grip and/or the forward grip.

like the detail on the desert tan, how did you do that?

Using a mesh bag wrapped around the item, spray with another color. Depending on how tight the mesh is, how tight the weave is, and how fine it is determines what the pattern will look like.

If you use a fabric mesh like a cheap pair of fishnet stockings pulled tight, you'll get very crisp lines. If you use a nylon bag that had oranges from the supermarket it won't lay as flat and you'll get more feathering to some or all of the shapes, and you may also spray through the nylon weave in spots.

All depends on the exact look you want. Google up snakeskin camo or some variation of that for more examples.

delta - looks great. I like the subtle snakeskin instead of going over the whole gun in a contrasting green or tan on black.

Yep...what he said. :p

In this case, I picked up a lingerie laundry bag at Walmart which is essentially a net bag with a zipper on it. A true bargain at $0.97. I didn't want to go overboard on it and applied the effect in certain places as you can see. The base color is "sand" which the effect in "khaki".

Thanks for the comments! Didn't spend a ton of cash on the add-ons and the paint job was fairly easy to do. Spent one night putting on 3 light coats of the base color and then finished off the details in a couple of hours the next day.

hmm, gonna be wierd for a guy buying fishnet stockings, but what the hell, im going for it :)

I did a full snakeskin on my 597 and used fishnet stocking for it so yeah, I felt weird as all hell buying them but nobody else gave it a second look.

beautiful. as for the foregrip, do what you did with the mag....leave some parts black and paint some tan accents on it

Krylon Camo spray paint. Lighter color (base) is sand. Darker color is Khaki. Most places carry it. I also picked up a matte clear coat spray, but didn't use it. If the paint doesn't hold up, I'm hoping that the weathered look will only improve the general look of it. If not...repaint.
